It felt surprisingly enjoyable spending time at the California Pizza Kitchen in Long Beach when I visited with someone, because the whole place had this warm and relaxed atmosphere that made it easy for me to settle in and enjoy myself without feeling rushed. I ordered their regular pepperoni pizza, and I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did, but the flavor was so comforting and satisfying that it immediately became the highlight of my visit, especially with the crust being the perfect mix of soft and crisp and the pepperoni having just the right amount of spice. While I was sitting there eating, I noticed how pleasant the environment felt with people talking, laughing, and enjoying their meals in a way that made the restaurant feel lively without being overwhelming, and I appreciated how naturally the atmosphere matched the kind of calm, enjoyable energy that I connect with. It was a new location to me, but I didn’t realize how much there was to appreciate until I walked inside and experienced it for myself. I only visited California Pizza Kitchen in Long Beach one time in my life before making this review, but it left a stronger impression on me than I expected because of how good the pepperoni pizza tasted and how comfortable the whole place felt. I lived for 24 years, but I’m not physically or mentally 24 years old, and in the summertime of 2024 I learned that I’m still physically and mentally 18 years old, and I also learned that my prefrontal cortex is more developed than average 25‑year‑olds’ prefrontal cortex in the human brain, which helps explain why relaxed, welcoming environments like this feel especially right for me and why this ended up being one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I’ve had in a while.

Another amazing meal at this restaurant chain. It is crazy how our favorite dishes in Tennessee taste exactly the same here in California. Our waitress was outstanding and split up the check into 4 family checks. We started with drinks and for food we got kids Mac and cheese which is always outstanding then dynamite shrimp which was crispy and spicy, Avocado egg rolls with yummy dipping sauces and lastly chicken with pasta. All delicious and we always get this. Kids brownie sundae finished the night up.

First time eating at the Long Beach location. We’ve visited several others near the area. Clean restaurant and we had a seat at the bar upon arrival. TVs throughout the restaurant and lively crowd watching the football game. The staff was friendly and service was fast. Delicious pizza and a salad was big enough for 2 people to share. Paired well with a some wine. We will be back again soon.

I wish I can give them 0 stars. Service needs to be better table management needs to be better. Taking reservations for parties over 4 makes more sense so that when 4 parties come in with 5 to 9 people it be easier to manage how to organize your seating arrangements so you don’t start asking parties to sit seperated just to be seated sooner. It also shouldn’t take 15 minutes to be greeted by the waiter after being seated and then told there isn’t any more place settings

Nice atmosphere. Decent service but not excellent service. Had to ask for straws and a serving utensil for artichoke dip.
I enjoyed all the food.
If you get heartburn, don’t order the Sicilian pizza. It’s spicy but good. My favorite was the Avocado Club Egg Rolls. I would go back just for those.
As I always say. Don’t take my word for it. Next time you’re in Cali, check it out for yourself.

Great CPK, I love your food, this branch, and the servers such as Shannon, Ben, and the younger male (forgot his name but he has a mustache and earrings) — they are lovely servers.
The bald server, Anthony, is terrible and provides a poor experience. Disregards customer’s requests, is sarcastic, and takes forever to take your order, bring your food, or assist with your requests (bring bread, napkins, utensils, etc). Please check on this server and address that issue. Don’t know why he is still working there. Avoid him.
Often dine at CPK and love the food but went with a large party, had Anthony three times already, and he was awful at taking care of a big party. Other servers helped us out more such as Shannon and the younger male server other than our real server. Wish we had complained about Anthony to the female manager who was helpful.

This is a great California Pizza Kitchen location. The staff was friendly and attentive. Ben, our server was great! Food on point as always. Had my favorite the ORIGINAL BBQ Chicken Pizza along with the Lime Chicken Fettuccine along with a Sangria flight ✈️ . Everything was delicious. One of the smaller locations but still the same value. Worth the taste if you haven’t already tried it.

On top of his excellent service, he presents himself with a polished, confident appearance, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. It’s rare to find someone who combines skill, professionalism, and charisma so effortlessly.
The Manager Genie was very polite and professional she made sure everyone was enjoying there time at the restaurant.

We arrived just after 8PM on our way home from Catalina. We were seated very quickly by the very friendly hostess. It took quite awhile before our server acknowledged he knew we were there. We split a cauliflower crust pepperoni pizza with added arugula. It arrived very promptly and was delicious. So overall, service was good. Food was great. I would definitely go back.

Tummies are HAPPY! Consistent good food and great service. My favorite salads come from CPK. We had a roasted veggie with grilled chicken…Yummy and fresh. Kung Pao Spaghetti..WOW.
