Service is on it. They always come around and check on me to see if I need anything. I love the salad bar. It’s all you can eat. I love the pictures of National Parks around the dining area.

I ordered the 8oz ribeye special the steak was nothing to write home about more like a carne asada steak. The soup and salad bar made up for the steak it was very good. My wife ordered the chopped steak and she said it wasn’t like the ones she’s used to back east but her fries, gravy and soup were great. We were there kinda late and it wasn’t busy at all. This was our 2nd time eating here the first time was much better.

We visited Calico’s restaurant
418 W Beale St, Kingman, AZ 86401

We arrived on Sunday about 1130am when Calico’s has the breakfast buffet and salad bar.

Our server was Kaliegh, she was very courteous and always around to see of we needed anything.

The establishment was clean with a good atmosphere.

The food was tasty…

As a Google reviewer and veteran I highly recommend Calico’s restaurant

As a vegetarian I really did like their zucchini sticks and caesar salad. Ordered exactly that and specifically asked for NO protein. Somehow a bunch of scraps of either chicken or turkey ended up in it. Gross and highly disappointing. We will never be returning. Sad cause i’ve seen a couple other reviews about them disregarding vegetarian diets.

From the young lady, Maddie who took good care of me, to the super cleanliness of this place. To the gorgeous giant photos all around the room. This place had me ready to write a great review before I even tasted the Reuben, which did not disappoint. It was classic and delicious and yes to the extra .99 cents for sweet potato fries! The wait staff seemed to know everyone that walked through the door. Now this place is big, you won’t feel crowded that’s for sure. They have some extra rooms and a separate bar area. If you want a nice meal where the people working obviously want to give you a good experience and take pride in the place, this is it. Plus, you can get all your route 66 swag here!! I did try to avoid people in my photos, so it wasn’t as empty as my photos may make it look… We will definitely be back for another great Reuben and possibly eventually try something else.

Calicos was a nice surprise. You walk in and the atmosphere is sort of like a family style restaurant not fancy. So I wasn’t sure what to expect with the food. The service was great. The salad and soup bar was very good. And when the food came it was fantastic I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the food was. It was my first time visiting their and I will definitely go back. Great job!

Lovely Cafe, great ambiance, beautiful pictures of desert scenery. The food is delicious and reasonable serving sizes. Plenty of beers on tap, Space Dust was a bonus! Haven’t tried the salad bar yet but it’s on the list for next time. Has a great gift shop near entrance for any souvenirs. Lots of parking and right of the road for easy access and visibility.

Great American diner fare in a really comfortable environment. Service is friendly, efficient, and welcoming. It feels like a small town gathering.

We started with zucchini sticks. Simple, fried, and yummy – with that strangely better restaurant ranch.

My daughter had chicken strips – which like an egg is simple thing that’s surprisingly hard to do well consistently. This one was good.

I had the calico melt. It’s a tasty creation that just screams hometown cafe. The parm sourdough was unique – and different than typical diner preparation, it was slathered in butter/oil before grilling. It was nice and light.

It’s a nice, open space, with a separate bar on the side. Despite being quite busy. it didn’t feel noisy or crowded. Parking slightly sparse, but nothing too difficult.

We stopped coming back to the Valley from Vegas. Location works well (as you can pass the backup at I-40 flying down the right side and then take an easy cruise down Route 66 to rejoin I-40 around the bend.
