We ordered the lomo saltado and the gran combo. The lomo saltado is their version of fajitas. It was good. Steak was delicious. We added the egg and avocado and I am glad we did. Makes it more hearty. I was less impressed with the gran combo but it was still solid. Just wish for more food for the price. I also wanted to switch out for more plantains but they said I couldn’t.
Upon returning I remembered why it was a go to place in college. I hope it continues to be a go to place for many. I would still choose here on return visits and just try other things.
From what I saw and felt, the staff were friendly and attentive, and even when the place got busy things moved along without the staff acting stressed or rushed. It gave off more of a “local favorite hangout” energy than a rushed chain‑restaurant vibe.
The value‑for‑what‑you‑get stands out. It’s the kind of spot where you don’t expect fancy frills — just solid portions, decent prices, and enough of a menu to cover a range of tastes (something lighter, something more satisfying, etc.). For a casual meal that doesn’t overthink anything, Cali N Tito’s hits the mark.
Above all, I came away feeling like this is a place you go not just to eat — but to hang out. Whether you’re after a quick meal, something easy on the wallet, or a chill spot with friends, it has that “easy to like” quality. If I were in Athens and craving something relaxed and unpretentious, I’d go back to Cali N Tito’s.
The laid-back, south of the border vibes were noticeable from the moment you arrived.
Walk-up ordering is fast and convenient. The menu has many varied options that all sounded delicious. I opted for the El mexi-can burger and banana shake. Prices were reasonable, and the order arrived without much wait. The shake was tasty and not too heavy, which was perfect on such a hot, steamy day. The burger was way beyond expectations! Loved the sauces and fresh tomatoes and avocados. The meat was grilled well done but very tasty.
The restaurant is covered but all open air with plenty of fans. There is an uncovered seating area, too.
The table we sat at was very sticky. Additionally, there were many flies joining me for lunch.
All in all, though, I hope to return to try other things on the menu.
Amazing food.
Amazing decor.
Now back to the amazing food!
Really, really amazing food.
Seriously one of my favorite restaurants on Earth (so far…).
