I love the super burritos here, they are delicious. Full of ingredients that compliment each others flavors. I don’t often eat inside but the tables are clean. Sometimes it can take a while to get your food but if you order ahead it’ll be ready by the time you picked.

Located on Main Street in the Publix shopping center of Spring Hill, Tennessee, this restaurant offers authentic flavors from
California. We arrived on a Tuesday night not knowing they have a Taco Tuesday special. Hubby had the Al Pastor taco, Chicken taco, and chips and salsa. I had a shrimp taco which is not part of the Taco Tuesday special. We enjoyed our meal. They have some beers that they offer for sale.

Tried online ordering. The order was exceptionally late in being prepared. It was prepared nowhere near the promised time at the time of order. Had to sit around and wait for the kitchen to “catch up”. Even there there was nobody in the restaurant when I showed up. What was going on there? Lazy? Apathetic? Unapologetic for sure.

Food ended up being toxic waste too. Go somewhere else.

In response to the “official” corporate response below, it doesn’t seem to be clear to you that if you have a backlog of orders, your promise times need to be reflected appropriately. You set an expectation, failed to deliver, and then blamed your own process. lol.

This “was” a great spot & used to be our fav, BUT their Carne Asada Burritos are now $13.50 & tacos way overpriced. That is more pricey than what you would find in California. Bummed.
Tortillas seemed like they were purchased from Kroger.
If they drop the prices & return to true California style Mexican food we will be happy to return.

We miss Good Mexican food and this place does a good job! I think if they did real shredded cheese like back in Cali where you see them shredding giant blocks of cheese, it would be even better!

Cali Burrito-try harder

The man at the counter was very nice. I asked him a question- something that I’ve been very curious about. I had previously ordered Nachos here- well over a year ago after some people suggested we try this place out- the cheese came out not melted. I had never had nachos before with unmelted cheese. So, I kindly asked the guy why they don’t melt the cheese. He looked at me like I was nuts, like “who the heck melts cheese on nachos?” He then (very nicely I must add) explained to me they don’t have anything to melt the cheese with so they leave it raw…I was so surprised to hear they had no broiler- oven or anything to melt. They operate with only a fryer and flat top. I understood then- and decided to never order nachos here, but try something else.

So here I am after a year, maybe more, giving them a second chance because my first left my taste buds in not such a good place. I ordered “rolled tacos” I know them as taquitos. They came out with diced tomatoes and lettuce on the side, which I found interesting, and unnecessary. The guacamole was thin and tasted old, like it came from a tub of prepackaged guac- not so crazy about that flavor, so I scraped it all off. The “chips salsa” from the salsa bar was ok and gave the rolled tacos some flavor- but they were still pretty plain.

I sat there looking around. The place was pretty busy (lunch shift on a Thursday) and I sat there puzzled… I wasn’t sure I wanted to come back, but clearly people are liking it… Perhaps I am ordering the wrong things.

They have branded themselves as California Mexican, yet it is nothing at all like the California Mexican I know. I grew up in southern California- eating Mexican food almost daily… Closet thing I’ve found here locally so far is Tito’s. Even if it’s not California Mexican, that’s fine- but good is good, and this was only ok to me.

I have worked in hospitality for over 20 years, and my husband is a chef… Perhaps I am a bit critical when I eat. But when a lunch order takes almost 20 minutes and comes out plain and tasting like it was pulled from a tub that’s been sitting for a couple of days longer than it should- well at this point in my life, I take it as an affront to my taste buds and mildly disrespectful. Do QC on your product before service to make sure things taste like they should.

If you think I should go back, and have some suggestions on what I should try, please drop them in the comments!

Stopped in for a quick bite after morning meetings on my way to Lewisburg from Franklin. I ordered a shrimp quesadilla and some refried beans which were both delicious and served quickly. I was a little surprised they charged extra for nacho chips but the salsa was free. A little pricey but worth it for the flavor and the food was executed perfection. The hot sauce was very hot, just the way I like it. The tea was also very tasty.

As a San Diego State alumni living in Tennessee, the flavor of the food served here takes me right back to “College Ave & Montezuma” (cross street where all the Mexican food restaurants are near SDSU) where I was spoiled with delicious Mexican food every night! INCREDIBLY TASTY and they even have carne asada fries! I’d give Cali Burrito 10 stars if I could!

The food in this restaurant is great but it all depends on the day you show up. Sometimes it’s excellent and sometimes it’s alright.
The price for the food is decent.
The personnel working there is very friendly, helpful and polite.
I have been to this restaurant several times and I haven’t been disappointed yet. If you are craving good tasting Tex-Mex food, this is the place in Spring Hill and Columbia.
