First off pizza was excellent, thin crust, a little flop as their “regular” pie, and minimally overcheesed and undersauced which in my books is one of the better traditional pizzas I’ve had in a long time. We were there approx 11:15 on a very cold January weekday and a few take out orders but we were the only ones sitting down at the time

The owner was very grumpy, complimented him on the pizza, mentioned Portny review which he said he was awarded an 8.6 and I told him i felt was better than that and I would return in future but still displeasure with my wife and I. When we walked in I asked if he had a bathroom and he somewhat barked “of course we do, we are a restaurant… what do you think?!” …. I loved this pie and was in an area I frequently travel sadly I don’t think I will go back or recommend this place highly as I always practiced ” take care of your customer or someone else will”. The owners killed the experience for me. I guess I need Dave portny with me to make them smile….

I wanted some pizza after work, and I decided on Calabria since it was close to where I was at the time. I ordered a slice of chicken pizza to-go, and I proceeded to wait for TWELVE MINUTES as the person who took my order forgot about my slice of pizza. It wasn’t until I brought it up with the cashier that they finally checked the pizza. As if it weren’t insulting enough, they handed me my piece of pizza, and told me: “Watch out sir, it’s nice and hot!” Well obviously, you left it in there for twelve minutes and burnt it. It’s truly a shame, because the parts that weren’t burnt weren’t even that bad. But my experience here was just beyond terrible.

very welcoming, they welcomed our puppy by carrying him in and showing him off to the staff. Pizza was top notch. bonus they serve adult beverages if you’d like a beer to wash the pizza down with

Hubby is a portnoy fan and wanted to try their highly rated pizza for his birthday. Did not disappoint. Great pizza, soup, meatballs and house red wine. They were supposed to close at 8 but didn’t rush us out. Let us take our time. Definitely recommend

Made a special trip just to have their pie due to stellar one bite review. Went on a Sunday, was quite busy with multiple families but we got a seat right away and good service to follow. Terrific server, old school easy going attitude and everything came out on time. Tried their famous thin and crispy (hot honey pep and plain pie) and it was beautiful. Super delicious and great size. We ended up having leftovers and the pie was still fantastic the next day. Would go back!

I was passing by and saw a pizza shop. As I pulled up I saw Dave’s 8.9 rating. I thought wow, a rare find. Can’t wait to try it. So, I got 2 regular slices. I’m not lying, there is absolutely no taste with this pizza. Very oily. The crust was ok. 8.9? I don’t think so. Maybe a 7.1. Truth. I’ve had up to 9.1 on his scale and it’s spot on. This place, no way. Maybe I’m eating the wrong pizza. I should’ve known that it was gonna suck as they have Dave’s picture everywhere.

***UPDATE… I returned here because they replied that I got the wrong pizza and I was in the area. Well, I got the right pizza this time because I asked. Now it’s suppose to be crunchy thin as there are signs everywhere saying this. Its not! It’s oily and floppy. The taste is better than the regular slice I had last time but not great. I really tried to love this pizza. Not impressed. I’ve had a lot of Dave’s reviewed pies and not feeling this one. I’m not trying to hurt this business, but if this is suppose to be crunchy thin, then why is it soggy floppy? ‍♂️ Thanks for reading.

I was NJ and decided to look for one of these highly rated pizza places. Found a gem! I ordered a plain pie which is always my preference but they had two styles thin and thick. I decided to go with thin but wish I would have had room in my stomach to try a thick slice as well. Anyway the pizza was very tasty, The staff was great and very attentive. I was casually peeking over at what others were eating I’m sure I’ll get back here at some point to try out their meatballs along with their other pasta dishes which looked pretty good.

Outstanding pizza .
we ordered two thin crust and two thick crust pizza pies . 2 Waldorf salads and buffalo wings. Service was impeccable, ambience, and atmosphere was amazing. What a gem of a place in a suburban town.

Ultra thin pizzas are always such a crapshoot. Either they’ll be so thin that slices flop hopelessly under its own weight, or the crust will taste more like tomato sauce and cheese on a cracker. But YouTube’s famous pizza reviewer, Dave Portnoy, gave Calabria’s thin pizza such an uncharacteristically high 8.9 that we had to find out for ourselves. (Note: the restaurant has since updated the menu and renamed it the ‘Dave Portnoy Thin Pie’).

In short, it’s as good as advertised.

I’m not sure what kind of wizardry goes into creating a crust that’s thin, tasty, AND structurally stable enough to maintain its rigidity under a good layer of cheese, but that’s precisely what we had here. I especially appreciated the shorn fresh basil on top of the pie. Our family also managed to polish off two other thin pies in record time – a Margherita and a white pie with so much garlic flavor that no amount of mints could disguise our postprandial breath (not that any of us were complaining).

I wish I’d thought to capture a shot of the fried calamari, which are such an unsung hero on Calabria’s menu. Here, they’re meaty and lightly battered, with a surprising number of the leg pieces (not my usual preference, but they’re done so well that I didn’t mind).

The restaurant is on the larger side, with two generously-sized dining spaces. Service was prompt, efficient, and courteous and our food came to the tables piping hot in under ten minutes. A stellar place for standup pizza!

This was my first time at Calabria, and I drove 45 minutes specifically for the thin, crispy pizza that was rated 8.9 by Dave Portnoy. My four-star rating is for the pizza I ate only, and I can not speak for any of the other items on the menu. Portnoy has a distinct taste for the style of pizza that he likes, which is thin, crispy, a good homemade sauce, little to no flop, and a perfectly cooked under carriage. Portnoy only rated their plain cheese thin crispy pie that they specifically made for him, and it is now on their menu called “Calabria’s Portnoy Crunchy Thin Pizza.” This is the style of pizza I like as well, but I went with the “Calabria’s Mike’s Hot Honey Pepperoni Crunchy Thin Pizza.” I called for pickup but decided to sit in their smaller dining room to eat. The service was good and the atmosphere was nice. The pizza came in a huge box, bigger than the average size large you’d get at any other pizzeria. Once I opened the box, the first thing I noticed was that it was cooked to perfection as in not sloppy, perfectly round, and the pepperoni was spread out pretty evenly. You can tell that they take pride in making their pizza and want to make sure the customer is satisfied with it. I picked up the first slice, and it had a little more flop than I’d like to see, and because of that, the cheese and pepperoni started to slide off the end of the slice but not by much though. Although on a few of the other slices, I had to use my other hand to stop the cheese and pepperoni from falling off the end. Not a super big deal, but it’s the reason I gave four stars instead of five. Now that’s explainable because of the grease that comes off the pepperoni when cooked and then dont forget about the Mikes hot honey, which adds more weight to the slice as well. I would recommend to the owner telling the cook to make the undercarriage crust just a little thicker for this reason. The overall undercarriage was cooked, good and crispy, but it could have been just a little bit more crispy in my opinion, but that’s just me because I like pizza really crispy, and again just a little thicker because of the weight and grease from the pepperoni. It had a good amount of cheese, and the sauce had a nice taste to it, which brought everything together just perfectly. Would I come back for more and recommend the pizza to others? Yes, definitely! I would love to try some of the other pizzas. They have a big selection of different styles of thin, crispy pizza, and if that’s not what you like, they make other pizzas that aren’t thin and crispy. The prices for the pizza are a bit higher than most pizzeria’s, so keep that in mind as well.
