Overall the restaurant was good but not perfect. My son loved the burger but my husband’s catfish was a little bit cold. My mango salsa only had two pieces of mango and the coconut rice tasted more like a dessert than something to pair with your dinner. However, the salmon was perfectly cooked and the blackened seasoning was fantastic. We had two drinks, three entrees and an order of the alligator bites and we shared beignets for dessert and it came out to about $100.

The food was great. I enjoyed the Blackened Chicken and my wife loved the Blackened Shrimp Alfredo.
The server was good and checked on us often.
Atmosphere was decent for a bar and was pretty busy.
Overall my family and I enjoyed our time at dinner and will plan on returning.

Cajun Steamer – Big Chiefs FGT Burger w/fries $14.89
The setup: 1/2 lb brisket burger topped with spicy bacon, fried green tomatoes, cheddar, pickles, lettuce, pico, and remoulade on a brioche bun.
The verdict: juicy, flavorful, well prepared, thoughtful ingredients… this burger was delicious! Each individual component was excellent.. the FGT was crispy and a little firm, no sog.. the bacon was perfectly crispyn delicious and hanging off every side, though i didn’t get the spicy note. The burger was perfectly medium as requested, and had great flavor and texture. The pico could’ve had more pop.. the bun and remoulade were good. Overall the burger was outstanding, with structural integrity holding up through 90% of the munch. Big, tasty and filling, this is immediately in the top 3 of local burgers!
The fries were another surprise.. crispy outside, fluffy inside with a great flavor, and they weren’t stingy with them. Dipped in remoulade (requested), they were extremely good!
Service was great, and the store was nice and clean. Plate arrived in very reasonable time, late lunch. Highly recommend the burger. Anxious to go back and try the Cajun food lol.
:edit: i tried the Cajun food… it was awesome! Redfish Rockefeller was phenomenol.. flavors like crazy!

Tried them again. I had shrimp tacos – they were okay. Kinda on the cool side. I like my food hot. My friends had oysters. Ask for twice-cooked. The margarita was very bland. Tasted more like watered down lemonade. Nobody liked theirs.

The food was delicious and presented well. The menu had lots of unique choices. We ordered a side of fried okra as an appetizer. Sooooo good! We will probably order one for each next time. The beignets were the best I’ve been able to find around Nashville. We loved Kameron, our server! He answered our many questions and was so friendly.

I love everything about Cajun cuisine. I’m glad this restaurant opened a location in Hendersonville. The food was delicious as always. We sat outside this time, but our servers still periodically checked on us and refilled our drinks. See pictures below for our wonderful meal. I forgot to take pictures of the desserts – the bourbon caramel beignets before we gobbled down.

Ambience & Service
Low and behold we have found our best in Tennessee server, (Madison) and we met Logan and Michael are the Operating Managers this evening. We are newbies at Cajun Steamer and Madison is the BEST bartender/server in all of Tennessee ! We know her from a previous restaurant relationship.
The restaurant has 2 levels and atmosphere is comfortable and laid
back and cozy!
Food- Everything I had was delicious and pleasing to the eyes. I was trying to find something that would give me a reason to rate less than 5 stars but I couldn’t find anything. Even the restroom for ladies was clean as late as it was in the early evening.
I highly recommend that you take the time to check it out. Hands down!!!
Thanks you all from the hostess to the dishwasher. (Yes we met him too!)

Mixed review. Crawfish is the best you’ll get around these parts. Shrimp is good but a lot spicier than expected for the area and day in the water way too long (shells were softened and stuck to the meat, nearly impossible to get off). Gumbo decent. Jambalaya and Red beans excellent. Etoufee was bad, not etoufee at all (please don’t judge etoufee off of this). French bread should be standard with gumbo but wasn’t. They were out of boudin balls and said they usually never have them. Beignets we’re good, but doughier than real beignets (and nowhere near enough powder sugar, was barely any). And caramel was a very weird and un-NOLA thing to paid with them Overall somewhere better pretty good and very good.

The food was great and so was the service. Katie, our waitress was more than just helpful. She was down to earth real, treated us like we come in there daily, and represented nothing short of southern hospitality. She brought a slew of samples on the different drinks that are offered during an ALL Day Happy Hour on Tuesday. Then, she even spoke with the cook to see if they would serve a dozen fried oysters that I had been craving. It’s not on the menu, but since it wasn’t overly busy, they were willing to make it for me. I’m so full, I’ve literally forgotten what we ordered for our dinner entrees! I snapped a pic, ate half, and took the rest home. Great place, all around!

We love Crawfish I’ve tried a number of dishes between this location and Franklin. The staff is fun and informative about the menu. The options of different Cajun dishes made this easily a go to spot. They have brunch too!!
