We stopped in for lunch, but clearly observed that their breakfast menu was what they are famous for. I will definitely go back after seeing the breakfast options being served.

Having said that, the lunch/dinner menu was vast. I had a Mediterranean Wrap and really enjoyed it. My son had a massive Stromboli. The service was great.

This place was very good. I went in for breakfast. The service was on point. The food was on point and definitely seemed to be a local hangout for the elderly. I would eat here again for sure. I highly recommend it.

If I could give this place a zero I would. My husband’s little sister wanted to take thier grandmother out to eat for her birthday and she paid with her own money. So we get up she pays we’re all in our cars when the “manager” or whatever he called himself comes out to the vehicle asking if everything was OK and why we didnt leave a tip. We’ll we told him we we’re letting her pay none of us have any cash only card and he told us not to come back. Now I have worked in restaurant services and I have never seen anything like that it was ridiculous.

Their country ham plate is a whole meal, biggest piece of country ham you could ask for. It’s soaked enough to where it’s not super salty. It’s juuust right. Country fried steak is delightful. The only bad thing about Cagney’s is their potatoes. No matter how you slice it, it just lacks flavor and any sort of crisp. Maybe the worse home potatoes and hash browns I’ve ever had. But overall? Their meals are filling and it gets the job done!

Cagney’s is a solid diner experience. Service was good and the dining room and restrooms were clean. Food was better than average diner fare and portions were large. Italian sub needed more lettuce & tomato but flavor was good. Chicken souvlaki wrap also had good flavor but the chicken pieces were too large for a wrap. The hot chips were probably the best I’ve had anywhere, and the cole slaw was fresh and flavorful. We will come back next time we’re in Wilkesboro.

Service was very good, quick and attentive. The food could have been much better. The catfish, potpie and hamburger were good without being anything special. If you are going to offer breakfast throughout the day, the hash browns should not be stone cold, and the salmon cakes were incredibly fishy and quite inedible. We didn’t report it because I didn’t want to upset the guests who were with us, but we will never return.

First time here and was very pleased for the most part. The food was great. Wife got the club sandwich and I, the country fried chicken. The kids got the fried shrimp, hamburger, and a Gummi bear pizza. No the pizza does not have Gummi Bears on it, it’s a cheese pizza with Gummi Bears on the side. Everything was delicious except for the fried squash, they were paper thin, soggy, and tasted of grease. That said the fried okra, potato salad, hush puppies, texas toast, and French fries were all excellent sides. The biggest downfall was being seated in the middle of the restaurant and not in a booth. It was as if we were the center piece to the booths that surrounded us. Very on display while your trying to eat your food. We will deffinitly be back but will request a booth next time. The service was wonderful and the price was fair.
(Update: Had to downgrade the food quality but upgraded the service quality. Been back a couple more times and it gradually gets more dissapointing. Maybe it’ll change for the better. Service is always phenomenal.)

Prices were reasonable and the food was good; the ruben was a 4.5. Did not think the beets were picked but oh well.

They have a bunch of veggies on the menu, but if you are a vegan or vegetarian be aware that most all veggies are cooked in some sort of animal product (maybe bacon fat). The server had difficulty understanding what a vegan was

Other than that, we would come again. We rate this restaurant a 4.2 for food, service, and atmosphere.

As usual they greeted me as soon as I came in. As I am in a wheelchair it is nice to have enough parking and the handicapped area of the walkway is usually well maintained. I love the booths they have and there are plenty of them with tables arranged so there is plenty of room to go between them and provide a good enough distance for diners to have private conversations at their table. The servers are quick to greet you and get your drink order but not pushy about your food order. There is such a large selection it takes a bit of time to choose what you might want unless you already know what you want. Either way the servers are great at either taking it fast or coming back when you are ready. The food has a lot to choose from and so far everything I and my family have had has been very tasty. The deserts are almost enough to make a sweet tooth cry they are so good and varied. The servers keep your drinks perfect. They do spoil me a bit. When I come in they put a pot of coffee on a warmer to get old so by the time I am ready for it it has gotten strong just like I need it. They have also been known to remove all the pecans from my pie for me so I don’t risk getting my fingers burned doing it at the table and making a mess. I love the pie but not the nuts and have done this to help make our dining go as smooth as possible. They also don’t try to rush us out the door like some places. I like to get to enjoy my pie and strong sweet creamy coffee while relaxing after the meal and talking with my family. My husband tips according to the service mostly, not as much the food, so rarely have we left with anything but very good tips and happy servers. We do then tip in the front jar according to how the food itself was and again most often it makes them smile. I will say I also appreciate the ladies room. I can get in and out with my wheelchair fairly easy and it is alwSys clean. Definitely recommend the Cagney’s in Wilkesboro just off 421N for good food, good service, and prices with portions that are big enough to share it to feed a growing boy.

We met at Cagney’s in Wilkesboro for a cousin’s reunion and really enjoyed ourselves but my eggs Benedict were unfortunately the worst I’ve ever had. There was no taste of lemon in the hollandaise and the english muffin halves could have benefitted from a bit of toasting to give the dish some flavor. Overall, very drab. However, the wait staff was very good and efficient and once the music was brought down to a background volume we could hear ourselves talk. For the price, there are better restaurants. I’m afraid I cannot recommend this one.
