It’s a nice restaurant with a traditional Japanese ramen feel! The ramen is very filling and delicious and they have a variety of different bowls and appetizers to choose from. Perfect for date night or just when you have a craving for some warm savory ramen

Food was extremely delicious here! I will be back. I was recommended this place by my coworker who had been coming for years growing up. He did mention the taste isn’t as good as before, but it surely does still hit the spot for ramen! In my opinion, it is quite a hefty price for some of their items, but food and quality does taste great along with their quick service, so I can’t complain much about it.
Their first top pick ramen was extremely flavorful especially with the chili paste that it comes with. Their chashu slices are thick and not thin like most shops now so you do get to enjoy the chashu a whole lot more. Plenty of typical add ons as any ramen shop should have.
Pork katsu was delicious and juicy. Not dry at all. Chicken karage was extremely juicy and actually burned my mouth a bit. So be very careful eating that one.

The recipe is very disciplined in Korean and Japanese broth techniques. Though the restaurant interior comes off Japanese, the side dish of red pepper paste (Gochujang 고추장) caught me by surprise, when I ordered the tsukumen. Again the dish was tasty and very well disciplined in its salt levels and flavors. The tonkotsu ramen tasted Korean broth but Japanese texture. This was an incredible fusion that I respect a lot. I took a quick peek at the team of cooks and they were non-Asian ethnicity. Most ramen shops operate the same strategy when it comes to the cooking staff, but I’m most impressed with this team in the aspect of adhering to the disciplined flavor profile.

After shopping at Camarillo Premium Outlet until the evening, I decided to have dinner nearby. After searching, I found this Japanese ramen restaurant with good recommendations. When I drove to the door, I found that there were so many people standing outside the restaurant. It seemed that this place was more popular than we imagined. After checking in outside, I waited to be seated. Fortunately, I didn’t have to wait long to get a seat. I ordered the popular pork bone soup ramen, and my wife ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen. My bowl of ramen was served with thin noodles, which was very close to my preference. The barbecued pork was big, thick and delightful. The additional egg was also delicious. On the ⁷contrary, my wife’s ramen was thicker and spicier than expected. It was not my ideal ramen. By the way: if there are 6 or more people visiting, at least 18% tips fee will be charged.

A consistent favorite, Cagami Ramen is our go-to spot for truly authentic Tonkotsu Ramen. We’ve dined here multiple times, and the quality is always exceptional.
The broth is incredibly flavorful and rich, yet it never feels heavy or overly thick—I always find myself finishing every last drop. The noodles are cooked to a perfect, satisfying firmness, and the availability of traditional red pickled ginger is a fantastic touch that enhances the entire experience.
The atmosphere is welcoming and the service is consistently good. We did have one experience during a peak busy period where our order was initially missed. However, the staff handled it beautifully. A server proactively approached us, explained the mistake, and expedited our order. They even treated us to a complimentary order of their delicious Karaage for the inconvenience. Their quick and thoughtful recovery turned a potential issue into a testament to their excellent customer service.

New management, this place has significantly gone down hill. I am not one to leave negative reviews, but in this case it is warranted. They made an authentic, delicious mom and pop shop into an Americanized money grab – about $10-15 more expensive per meal for lower quality food.
Shoyu Ramen tasted like spicy ground pepper, noodles were gooey and goopy. Pork pieces were extremely small, and mostly all fat and inedible. My friends Curry Ramen was also goopy and tasted weird / inauthentic. We both always finish our ramen, especially at Cagami – but couldn’t finish this time around and left hungry.
They charge extra for everything like Eggs now, and it came out whole and the yolk was not the consistency from past experiences. This place has been a staple for us for YEARS and I sadly will not be back and will warn my other friends who loved this place of the new changes.
Update Feb 2025:
Updated my review to 3 stars because this place is trying after the feedback and the meat portions are larger however the pricing for every little addin stays the same. I tried the food again because we really used to love this place. Food quality has improved from initial review.

5 STARS x100 ⭐️❤️ what stood out to me about this place was the eye catching interior! I couldn’t stop gawking at everything from the lanterns down to the tv channel they were broadcasting. but the real show stopper was the food! crispyyy takoyaki just how I prefer it instead of soggy.. the gyoza was the perfect amount of soft and crunch! and finally, the ramen was so hearty and well stewed I’d come back for seconds! definitely come check them out and make sure to leave room for the mochi ice cream

This is one of the few restaurants I’ve been to that offers both quality and quantity. By far my favorite ramen restaurant in California, I prefer it over the many spots I’ve been to in the Bay and LA. Nothing else in Ventura County comes close to this place. They recently redid their menu and it’s still delicious, their pork is flavorful and fatty, I also always order thick noodles with my ramen.
