This is a hidden gem in Los Altos! We sat at the bar to eat and drink. Everything that we ate was very, very good! Service was top notch, and Ruben was extremely nice to us.
We started with Bruschetta, and for our entree’s Pollo Marsala, Lobster Ravioli. Ruben suggested the dessert, but I forgot what it was called.
We will definitely be back!
We recently ate dinner again and we sat at the bar. Our server Mikey was really nice and knew his wines. We had a bottle of Barbera that was excellent! Everything that we ate was sooo good. Started with Caprese and Garlic Bread, then Penne Alla Siciliana and Spaghetti with Meatballs. You get five nice size meatballs. For dessert, we had Tiramisu and Expresso Martini. We also got to talk to Ruben, and he’s always really nice.
Went again and sat at the bar and of course we got to talk to Ruben. We had an appetizer that Ruben suggested and they only have it once a year. It was Cotechino E Lentiche and it was delicious. It’s vegetables and herbs meat cotechino served over lentils. My wife had a fish dish and I had the Cappellini Pomodori with prawns and both were really tasty.

Very good to excellent food. We enjoyed the Blue Cheese & Apple Salad, Lobster Ravioli, Linguine Primavera, tea, coffee, and for dessert Cioccolato and Chocolate Lava Cake. Excellent, attentive service. The bread that was served along with the meal was just average white Italian bread that lacked character. While there was lots of seating inside, we greatly enjoyed a table outside as it was nice weather (there are just a few of these).

Spoilt for choice here with a fantastic array of pastas and pizzas. Lovely crusty bruschetta to start. Ordered a sausage meat pasta and a vegetarian aglio olio. Amount served was generous. Place had outdoor seating but was very windy at that time. Eating inside was fine and cosy. Service was warm to some individuals but cold shoulder to others.

Ruben, Sergio, and all the staff we’re excellent hosts for our mother’s 90th birthday dinner of 21 people. They made us feel at home and the service was great. I would definitely recommend Cafe Vitale to host your party. A special thank you to Ruben for his help during the planning process.

Came here to celebrate a friend’s retirement party.
This place has a bar and TV. With plenty of seating. (even for a party) The ambience is nice also. We all were given a Salad, appetizers: calamari and fried meat balls? (Not sure, see pics) and for the main dish I opted for the sea food pasta with red sauce.

The Calamari was light, crispy and most importantly, not oily at all. 5 stars, definitely recommend.
The fried Meatballs (as I call them) had a slightly cheesy texture on the inside but were kind of bland 3 stars.
The salad was Beautiful, with pear, Mango, (I think) gorgonzola cheese definitely a must before dinner 5 stars.
Bread was meh, kind of hard, not much flavor. 2 stars.
The sea food pasta with small pieces of fish, clams, muscles, shrimp, squid and pasta in a red sauce was pretty darn good and the pasta was cooked perfectly Al dente 3.5 stars. Over all I think this place is solidly in the 3-3.5 star range. I will be back to try other menu items.

I was here once before covid and liked it. They’ve expanded the main dining room and recorated. It feels like an outdoor terrace
in Italy. The food was great and reasonably priced. It was busy on a Thursday night. We waited about five minutes for a table in the main dining room. The service was very good and friendly. The veal Marsala was excellent. My wife loved the pasta Primavera.

Amazing and incredibly delicious as always. Staff 100% Food 100% Ambience 100%. You will not be disappointed at all. Food is made as requested so be prepared to wait for a bit. I usually start with a drink or an appetizer.

A really local place. We always see people we know, or want to know. We are always greeted in a friendly way. Pasta is excellent, especially the lasagna. Highly recommend.

Cafe Vitale hosted a big birthday bash for my mother Aug. 20, 2022. Searching for a restaurant, we were looking for the Goldilocks spot: Not to expensive and overly formal, not too cheap and underwhelming but a perfect balance between charm, intimacy and openness with a flexible manager or owner. When I visited the week before, I liked what I saw.

The decor was a quaint Italian village setting with a nice breeze ran through the restaurant and bar. As with most restaurants responding to pandemic conditions, there were sidewalk tables and a garden patio. Plans were for us to occupy one room but as we discussed guest count and things we wanted to do, the owner offered us his largest room located in the front of the restaurant primarily because we held a Saturday afternoon luncheon. It was far larger than the other room so worked out perfectly. They allowed us to decorate, which meant a few posters on the walls and setting up table decor, goldfish included.

Food was excellent. I had veal piccata. Meat was was tender and juicy with a delicious wine gravy. There were zero food complaints including from an uncle with a reputation for being so picky about his food he’d bring his own outside food into other restaurants.

I really enjoyed the owner. He was very involved ensuring our satisfaction and a memorable experience. Our birthday girl had everything she needed including a good time. I cannot speak highly enough about this place and its owner. It’s a hidden Los Altos treasure for which I shall return with friends in tow. Mangia!

Delicious!!! Outdoor seating keeping – Covid concerns in mind. Wonderful wait staff! Everything we had was delicious! I was not too keen on the $8 fizzy water, probably won’t order that again. Great location with parking in front or back of bldg. Will be back and highly recommend!
