Reviews
This was my third visit to Trieste, and this review reflects all three experiences collectively. My visits ranged from excellent to disappointing, and there are several points worth highlighting.
First Visit:
My initial experience left a negative impression. It was raining heavily, and after finishing our meal and settling the bill, a staff member asked my sister and me to leave the table because they needed it for other customers. I informed him that we were waiting for our car and could not stand outside in the rain. He insisted, offering no alternative seating at first. Only after I pressed the matter did he return and allow us to remain seated, as another table had become available for incoming guests. This interaction alone made me hesitant to return.
Second Visit:
Despite my earlier experience, I returned with family and guests, and the food completely changed my perception. I ordered the Mushroom Steak, and it was exceptional—perhaps the best steak I have ever had. It was cooked exactly to my preference, and the sauce delivered consistent flavour throughout, avoiding the common issue of steaks becoming bland after the first few bites. This meal was so impressive that I decided Trieste would be my go-to place for steaks.
However, the washrooms were extremely unclean and in clear need of serious attention.
Third Visit:
My most recent visit took place in the morning, and the food quality felt noticeably different—possibly due to a different chef. I ordered the Mushroom Steak again; this time it was decent but not comparable to my earlier experience. The flavour faded after a few bites, and the meat was slightly chewier than I prefer, though that is subjective.
My sisters ordered the Rattlesnake Pasta, and both portions had chicken that tasted off, as if one of the sauces had spoiled. Upon checking, I agreed. When we raised the issue, a staff member in a suit—likely a manager—claimed that the flavour was due to the sauces they use. My sister, who frequently orders this dish, clarified that this was not normal and that even the presentation was different from previous visits. The dishes were eventually replaced, and the new servings tasted correct, confirming that something was wrong with the first batch.
We also ordered a Mojito, which was excessively sweet. As this was my first time trying one, I will not weigh it heavily in the rating.
Conclusion:
Trieste has delivered both outstanding and disappointing experiences. The Mushroom Steak during my second visit was extraordinary and is the only reason I am willing to give the restaurant one more chance. If my next steak is up to that standard, I may revise my view. However, until the hygiene issues and food consistency concerns are addressed, my rating remains:
2 out of 5 stars—with potential to reach 4 or higher if the highlighted issues are resolved.
Absolutely love this place.
Best place for family and friends.
Highly recommended
Then I tried their pasta from signature menu and it was very average…Next time I tried chicken parmesan and peri peri bites…it was one of the worst meals of my life…the parmesan tasted like tomato ketchup me doobi hui chicken karahi
And the peri peri bites were big sized extremely thick chillies with only boiled chicken stuffed inside we couldn’t even eat them….
P.s. I am posting peri peri bites photo since we took it as a takeaway once and i can’t find other photos atm i will post when i find.
Staff is rude maybe cause of roza
No ventilation smoke starts to fill in the area every time i went.
No ramp
Food awesome
Service satisfactory
Ambiance is good but there is no privacy. Tables are placed too near to eachother.
We even got a complimentary lava cake
