I live right by this place and have been wanting to give it an honest try. Here’s my review and I hope it helps the owner/management improve. It’s Gunnison, service, quality and price are notoriously bad so I almost expect that with everything in this town. That being said, the service was excellent! The atmosphere was fine, I don’t love hearing “Mr. Brightside” while “enjoying” a margarita and chips and “salsa”. Now my quotations are there for a reason, I’m not sure there was tequila in my $12 margarita and I’m quite certain the salsa is made with marinara sauce. That would be my first suggestion, start over with the salsa recipe, it is terrible and it cost $2.75. My enchiladas were fine, there were chunks of some kind of meat mixed in with my sauce, I ordered cheese and chicken enchiladas and these were definitely not chunks of chicken.
To summarize, this place is prime real-estate, host bands, have events, be a spot people talk about! Also, I know it is hard to find good employees in the valley but find some and be open on the weekend! Huge missed opportunity to not be open for lunch and dinner on Saturday at the very least. Make the food just a little better! El Pariso is not a 5 star restaurant but your food is not as good and more expensive. Make sure your bartenders know what they’re doing! I can look past and really bad margarita if it’s strong. I think I just drank store bought margarita mix for $12. This place is not terrible but could be so much better and make so much more money for the owners!

This is a favorite destination when we come through Gunny. I have celiac disease and they know more than enough to steer me to the safe foods. LOVE their tamales and green chili!

Food was okay Mexican food (not exactly authentic). Staff started out polite and helpful, but then the lady manager was very rude near the end when we asked for an itemized receipt. The lady manager who was the rudest, then took about 30 minutes to use their outdated way of writing down each of the expenses on a note pad and their individual prices. Seemed a little sketchy since they take out an automatic 20% for larger groups, hence why we wanted an itemized receipt to confirm. I would of given 3 stars but the lady manager really ruined it. Rest of the staff was nice though.

NOT REAL MEXICAN FOOD! How can you mess up tacos?! Only 2 tacos with rice & beans was $22, which is hella overpriced (even in Gunni). It was NOT even good. Shredded beef should NOT have a gelatin-like consistency. Gross. Who doused this in pure fat? Not even barbacoa tastes like this.
Please note: We wanted Añejos, but they weren’t answering and hungry. Should have gone to Taco Bell. Damn waste of money.

Delicious chips + salsa right when you are seated, great variety of food selection and fabulous green chili! Staff were very attentive on refills and so kind. Recommend as you pass through or stay near Gunnison!

Open air place, nice and clean, service was so so, chips were fresh, salsa was tomato soup style, we ordered chicken quesadilla it came out a tortilla with cheese on it and a couple of pieces of meat was a very weird interaction with the staff after they delivered this and I said this is the quesadilla they said yes this is their quesadilla it really tasted Bland and dry

Took forever for the food to come out. Draft beers were poured short. Food was mediocre at best. We told server to split bill before the food came out however they refused to split the bill at the end. They did not give us an itemized bill. Update: Warning- they automatically charged us a 20% tip to the bill.
