Came here for lunch for the first time when my friend was visiting and it did not disappoint, the sandwiches are fantastic! I appreciated all the toppings/condiments that could be added and the bread was amazing! On top of that, the staff were super friendly and welcoming. The cafe itself has a super cozy vibe and we ended up sitting on the back patio, it was a great experience, definitely add it to your list!

I love this place so much, that when I visit Cambridge, I make my hotel choice based on it being walking distance to Cafe’ Rustica. The 2 guys that run the place are warm, friendly, funny and although I’m there at most once or twice a year, they remember me.

Best time to visit is when school starts, but it’s such a warm, homey place, brimming with locals, fresh piping hot coffees and teas, yummy bagels, simple breakfast sandwich’s and pastries.

Lots of older Cambridge residents frequent the place as do students and a mix of those visiting town. Lots of academics and students from all over the world.

Laid back, simple, often with global or cultural music playing.

Can’t say enough good things about this place, if you sit and observe the patrons the plethora of diversity is … ok so obviously I like the place. Just keep in mind they serve the coffee and the eggs extra hot. Which is perfect for me. 🙂

Very cute cafe with a laid back feel. There is some seating indoors as well is outside in the back and two tables in the front outside. The staff are very friendly. There is a good menu with lots of options. We liked the bagel sandwiches but acknowledge that the bagels were bouncy than normal and that 2 scrambled eggs dwarf the sausage. I would definitely recommend and return. The wait was not long.

My friend and I stopped in to grab a quick bite for breakfast and coffee and this place delivered. I had a crossaint sandwich with egg, prosciutto, and provolone and it was heaven! Our food came quick and the owner was super sweet. When we noticed the collection of postcards in the restaurant he even told us how customers that have visited from all over the world had sent them. How sweet is that?! If you can, definitely stop in for breakfast you won’t be disappointed!

This place is a neighborhood staple. The owner and staff are always friendly and food is always good and fairly priced. If I could give it a 10/10 I would. While other restaurants are trying to squeeze you for $$$, Rustica focuses on good food and great customer service. This was always a hidden gem but I am so happy to see the success this place has had. Keep being you Rustica!!

Small local cafe that serves affordable coffee and amazing Italian sandwiches.

For over two decades, Cafe Rustica has been a beloved cafe among the locals in this Somerville neighborhood. With classical music gently playing in the background, this quaint cafe offers a soothing ambiance that is perfect for a brief but relaxing stop.

I’ve been coming to Cafe Rustica for a quick bite over the past two weeks. After trying their roast beef sandwich on my first visit, I instantly fell I love. The sandwiches here come with a perfectly toasted and pressed paninis, and each bite offered an irresistible crunch. Roast beef itself was just okay, so on my subsequent visit, I got the Italian tuna sandwich. Packed with classic Italian ingredients – like roasted peppers, a drizzle of olive oil, and fresh tomato – it was one of the best simple Italian sandwiches I had in a while.

The cafe has a 45-minute limit on table usage, although I’m not entirely sure how strictly this rule is enforced. Despite the crowd during my visits, people didn’t seem to have any issue finding seating.

If you’re looking for a simple Italian panini sandwiches, Cafe Rustica might just be one of the best options in the Greater Boston area. Will definitely be back to try more of their sandwiches.

Best breakfast sandwich in porter, knocks the bagel places out of the park. Everyone is kind, the service is amazing, and so is the grilled muffin!

This is my favorite place to go with my boyfriend 🙂
