“Well this feels familiar. It’s like Il Porto without table cloths.”

As a long term customer of both Il Porto locations, it was obvious they were connected.

Located in a strip mall behind a McDonald’s. There is plenty of parking.

Upon entry we were created by the friendly staff and quickly sat.

Drinks and bread were quick to the table. We ordered a few of our old favorites. They were all spot on. The calamari had just the right amount of batter. My Veal Frances was excellent as usual. Lee enjoyed the chicken parmesan that always results in leftovers.

A large party a few tables over, was celebrating something, and was having a good time. It never slowed down our server or dragged on the kitchen.

Will definitely stop in again. Now that we know it’s here.

Service here was flawed but fine, and the venue is spacious and nice, but every dish except literally the salad was disappointing. We tried the spaghetti bolognese, the fettuccine alfredo, veggie lasagna, crab bisque soup, and the mushroom ravioli and they all fell short. Just tasted so incredibly average, and not remedied sadly with punches of salt, pepper, or more cheese.

Even in MoCo, there are much better Italian spots.

First time dining here. I didn’t eat the bread, but my daughter had two pieces. It looked like nothing special, like Wonder bread truthfully. Butter was in those little hard to open tiny square packages – a ramekin of softened butter would have been much nicer.
Service was extremely attentive. Best thing about eating there.
Caesar salad at $10 was extremely average.
My pasta dish, penne with chopped clams, was just ok. Should have been enough for a doggy bag, but definitely wasn’t.
My daughter’s veal parmesan was much better. Wish I’d ordered that instead. Decaf coffee came with the little creamers you’d get at McDonald’s. The cream was probably sitting around for a while, because there were splotchy specks in my decaf. Not pleasant.

Overall, I’d give food a B- or C.
Service was a definite A.
Might give it one more try, but likely not on second thought.

The food was a little bit greasy, but the place is nice. It was very quiet and a little bit weird mixed feeling but in general we had a good experience. The service was a bit slow. My food didn’t taste very good so I asked them to bring some sauce and then I find out they charge me for that.!!

I wanted to go to a non-chain Italian restaurant. I had the short ribs ravioli and my wife the soft shell crabs. We were really happy with both. The service was great and parking wasn’t an issue. Would recommend grabbing some really good Italian food here.

Cozy atmosphere with very affordable prices and lots of choices. I stayed traditional with a Cesar salad, spaghetti & meatballs and they were kind to add mushrooms for me. The bread was fresh and tasty. The waitress Kali, was very attentive and knowledgeable for being so young.

Service is the KEY

Gem of Gaithersburg’s Kentland area. Dined over 6 times over 11 months!.
The first moment I walked through the doors, I knew I was in for a memorable culinary experience. With Abraham, a remarkable host and manager, at the helm, this restaurant truly excels in both service and taste.

Abraham’s dedication to quality shines through in every aspect of the dining experience. He constantly checks with the staff to ensure that the service is impeccable and that the food meets the highest standards. His commitment to excellence is truly commendable and sets this establishment apart from the rest.

The moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the restaurant’s great ambience. The warm and inviting atmosphere, coupled with tasteful décor, created a delightful setting for a memorable meal. Whether you’re looking for an intimate dinner or a celebratory gathering, this restaurant offers the perfect backdrop for any occasion.

One aspect that pleasantly surprised me was the reasonable pricing. Despite the top-notch quality of the food and service, the restaurant manages to offer a menu that won’t break the bank. It’s a testament to their commitment to providing a fantastic dining experience accessible to all.

Speaking of food, the culinary delights at this Italian gem are nothing short of outstanding. I had the pleasure of trying the short rib ravioli, and it was absolutely divine. The tender short rib filling combined with the delicate pasta and luscious sauce created a harmonious explosion of flavors. It was truly a dish to remember. Crab stuffed mushrooms are a seafood lover’s dream come true. Plump, perfectly cooked mushrooms are generously filled with a mouthwatering blend of crab and flavorful ingredients. Each bite offers a harmonious combination of textures and a burst of savory goodness. The attention to detail in seasoning and presentation is evident, and the portion size is generous. Coupled with impeccable service, these crab stuffed mushrooms at Café Roma are a must-try for anyone seeking a delectable appetizer that will leave a lasting impression.

Another standout dish was the chicken boscaiola. The perfectly cooked chicken, accompanied by a rich and savory mushroom sauce, left me wanting more. The balance of flavors and the attention to detail in every bite were a true testament to the expertise of the kitchen staff.

Aside from the exceptional food and service, one of the notable advantages of dining here is the ample parking available. Finding parking can often be a hassle, but this restaurant provides a hassle-free experience with its convenient parking facilities.

In conclusion, this Italian restaurant in Gaithersburg’s Kentland area is undoubtedly the best of its kind. With Abraham as a remarkable host and manager, the quality of service and taste of food are consistently exceptional. The great ambience, reasonable pricing, and ample parking further enhance the overall experience. I highly recommend trying the short rib ravioli and the chicken boscaiola for an unforgettable culinary journey. Whether you’re a local resident or a visitor to the area, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine.

Came in this past Monday night around 8 PM and ordered about $100 worth of food to go. The restaurant was completely empty with more than 20 tables open, so my party of three sat down at one of them to wait for our order.

A worker came over and told us we couldn’t sit there and had to wait by the to-go bench instead. We asked to speak with the manager and it turned out this worker was the manager.

Normally I would understand and comply, but when the restaurant is nearly empty it just felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. A good manager should know when to enforce rules and when to show flexibility, especially when it doesn’t impact anyone else.

Instead, he doubled down and said it was policy. We asked for a refund and left. Rude staff, poor judgment, and not a place I’ll be returning to.

Been ordering takeout from here many times. Italian food is decent but definitely not authentic. If you don’t ask for al dente, you will get overcooked pasta 99% of the time. The white sauce is a lot of butter and oil and very light on garlic, wine and seasoning. I usually order fresh clams with white sauce or seafood pasta, hit or miss. Tiramisu is always a hit. The portions are generous but I prefer quality over quantity. I tried the white pizza based on reviews and it was a definite miss. If you had Gemelle’s Italian pizza from across the street, you will be spoiled.

This place has a beautiful interior design and atmosphere. The staff are absolutely lovely, you will get the best service you could ever get while you are here. The food was delicious. I would recommend this place especially for a romantic date! This is my favorite Italian restaurant, the food and quality is impeccable. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the lobster ravioli is to die for. My favorite appetizers were the crab stuffed mushrooms and the clam casino, and the best part is, it’s affordable. If you are an Italian food lover you need to try this place.
