Honestly best restaurant experience i’ve had in town when it comes to dining in. The warm greeting, the “over the counter” banter with Rebecca, and witnessing the flow of service i love to see. A seemingly well-oiled machine serving honest and delicious food options. Get the tatziki and the roasted garlic combo. We got the kitchen sink pizza, but I’m confident any option is delicious.

Great fresh pizza, you can watch them make it. The people running the place were very friendly and welcoming. If you want pizza in their little downtown this is the spot. Would definitely come back $17 for a regular sized pizza easily feeds 2.

Firstly, the wait was over an hour BUT we were prepared after reading reviews. The pizza definitely delivered – on flavor, crispiness, not too oily, even with the pepperoni! 10/10 this is the restaurant you NEED to try if you visit.

Omg!! This place is our favorite ruidoso gem!. From the minute you walk in ots so comfortable. Its like your in a calm setting and you casually drink a cola. Especially the colorado one. Taste better than coke!! Our must haves are a big ol slice of pepperoni. My wife gets the meatball sub!! From the freshness to the ending bite. Something magical happens!! Of I could give anyone a tip. Go to Pizza Rio!! Definitely recommend this place to everyone!!

Wow, this is the absolute best pizza we have ever had. We got the white pizza and added brisket and green chilies and also the meat pizza. Both pizzas was absolutely amazing. We only had about 5-10 minute wait. This is what was left. Highly recommended.

Cafe Rio is amazing for a few different reasons. First and foremost Gloria!! She was our waitress both times we ate there and she treated us like she had known is forever.
Second. Their pizza is amazing. We had the white the first time we went and the Tuscan the second tike both were amazing. Their garlic bulbs were also really really good.
If you go after 4 or so be prepared to wait and this isn’t their fault. They’re the only thing open. So the locals and the tourists are trying to get in the place. The do table service, phone orders and have a walk up window. The waiting for your food isn’t on them but trust me, they’re worth the wait.

Food was amazing! We loved the pizza, the cream sodas and dessert (cheesecake was my favorite) Staff was friendly but they were really busy so don’t expect the best service, also plan to wait a good while for your food. Totally worth it though!

One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had, around the world.
We visited this pizzeria as a family group. When we arrived, we were asked how many people we were. I said 11, and that’s when the problem started.
A white female staff member, heavily tattooed, began shouting at us, saying very aggressively that under no circumstances could we be seated together because the maximum group size was 10. She finally decided to split us into two groups of 5 and 6, but she continued yelling in a very disrespectful and unprofessional manner the entire time.
She informed us that one group would wait one hour and the second group an hour and a half. I did not argue and accepted her conditions, despite being shouted at in front of my entire family.
Then she yelled at us to leave the premises and come back only when it was our turn. At that moment, my mother—an elderly woman who has difficulty walking—politely asked if she could wait on some benches inside that were empty and not being used. This simple question seemed to enrage the woman even more, and she yelled at my mother to get out.
That was when my patience ran out. Her behavior was extremely rude and inappropriate, to the point where it felt completely unhinged. I calmly asked another employee if I could speak to the manager, only to be told—shockingly—that the person who had been yelling at us was the manager.
It is truly disappointing that in a town that depends on tourism, a place would have such a disgraceful lack of ethics and respect toward customers.A person in that position should have a minimum level of required manners and education — not just having completed elementary school — and, at the very least, some basic ability to understand Spanish, since they serve visitors from various countries.
I cannot comment on the food, because we never stayed, but the service was absolutely terrible.
I do not recommend this place.
