We did an online order and they were gonna close just over an hour before my wife did. They were out of the sauce that they have to cook each day for the salad. This is one of those things that she only gets from there because she loves the sauce that comes on this salad. They were gracious, however, they were overly accommodating. They credited back they offered anything we wanted, even though it was one meal gave us the original salad, offered me sodas and another meal, and I had already eaten… Above and beyond kindness, and always clean at any time we’ve been there.
I don’t say things are five stars, the food is great there it’s always consistently made with the quality you expect from this restaurant chain. However, without going into detail, Respond if you would want more detail. I already wrote a book, I am overly appreciative of how they went about it because I get weird in those situation.

We tried this location because we’ve been disappointed with the one closer to us. It was better. I was surprised that they had a changed menu- no more tostadas or enchiladas and that’s not reflected on the app- and the prices are different too. It is more of a Build Your Own style which is interesting. The bowl price also went up. Honestly, we had a good experience but I had a $10 gift card which made the price more worth it. At full price, I don’t know if it’s worth it to me. Cafe Rio isn’t what it used to be. In Utah, Cafe Rio was the best restaurant!! But in Arizona, we haven’t been to a Cafe Rio that lives up to the Utah versions. Too bad.

I think Cafe Rio is great. Such good food. And this location was no exception. The food was delicious. The service was awesome as well. Portion size is great. Make sure you come hungry.

Two stars for the presentation, but taste wise is not really that good or worth the price, I prefer Someburros. The food is always cold whether it’s delivery or in person, and this time I found a piece of onion skin inside my burrito. I’ve always had the feeling this place is not the cleanest or most organized for a food joint, it does reflect on the actual food and taste. Unfortunately it has potential but it’s being wasted on the wrong cook/staff and management, which is always the case in Arizona restaurants doing the bare minimum and always being rated 3, low 4’s on google reviews. Hard to find anything in this state that’s 4.5 or above.

Every time I order a burrito it’s either super soggy because they don’t drain the meat, even after you repeat that to them multiple times (This is Cafe Rio in general, not this location specifically.) So I ordered a steak burrito this time to see if I could have a burrito that I could actually eat without having to just in a bowl. Can you guess what happened after the first bite? Friggin’ burrito blowout from multiple geometrics, as you can see from this recent picture from like a few minutes ago. I called the Cafe Rio phone number and the girl was really nice and helped me out. But Cafe Rio needs to make burritos that don’t blow out or SOG you out, if that’s the case, just give up on the friggin’ burritos and do bowls only.

We had such a great dinner and the service was amazing, thanks to their employees April and John. They were so friendly and helpful with my kids ordering their meals and April was the absolute best! She is the reason my family and I will be visiting again soon. What a great employee!!

I love this place! I really do! I was getting the feeling that I was getting upcharged for everything—and when I got to the register, I was still not sure what I was charged until after I paid and then the receipt printed out to show me the line items. Next time I’m gonna ask to add only things that don’t cost more. Can’t pay $30 to eat out with my 12yo. Ain’t that rich yet.

I ordered off of Uber Eats. The nachos had to be reheated because the cheese alone wasn’t even melted. I got the two taco plate which had more salad on it than meat. It look like they grabbed a spoon and said here you go. And then, when you bite into it, there’s more fluids that flow out of it that you can’t even call it juicy. You know they just handed you a bunch of meat that was sitting in the saucer pan. I was really excited because it was highly rated. This is what a single dad gets to eat at the end of the night dog food. This is why food trucks are killing it nowadays because main stream restaurants can’t keep quality..
