I ordered on the app and got a steak burrito and a chicken salad. When I got home and started eating my salad it was about half way through that I realized there was no chicken in my salad! Seriously how do you mess up as badly as not putting chicken in the salad. At that point it was about 20 minutes before they closed so I didn’t bother going back because the chicken wouldn’t have been fresh or any good anyways. Very disappointed!

The shredded beef taco portion is crazy small! Like like 2 tablespoons! She told me only 2 ounces are allowed. Have you seen the size of the small tortilla, it’s huge compared to the small portion of meat. That’s how small the meat portion is. When I asked her for more, she snapped back & said she’d charge me double for what should have been a “normal” amount, which is what they actually used to serve. Then they charged me for adding corn to the taco, which they never have before.

Less product, more money. The amount of meat is so inconsistent between visits & employees. That kid has no idea what 2 ounces is. If you’re going to go by ounces, then get the damn scale out! At least it’ll be consistent then. Your eyeballing technique doesn’t fly. This pic was 7.29.25, today’s portions were smaller.

Do not visit this business.I hope this franchisee owner goes out of business!

Placed order online with their site, was charged for the entire meal and nothing was ready when I arrived at the placed pickup time. They said it was not even in their system, yet it was confirmed by their own site and my bank showed the charge. Refused to make any food or refund and told me to go back another day to try to get my money back. Don’t waste your time.

Jay was amazing. He was so welcoming and handled my food like it was his own. It even tasted better then normally 🙂 Right away there was a conversation… not many places now have good customer service and he made sure to leave his customers satisfied and lovely laughs. Definitely get this guy a raise!

I stopped by the Café Rio in Queen Creek tonight (Friday, October 17th, around 8:30 p.m.) and was really impressed. It was super busy, but the whole team was working hard and staying on top of things — the pace was steady, and everyone seemed focused and positive.

What really stood out to me was the manager — the taller guy running the show. As someone who’s managed restaurants before, I know how stressful it can get during a dinner rush, especially with younger or part-time staff. But this guy had everything under control. He was calm, encouraging, and clearly respected by his team.

It’s rare to see that kind of leadership in fast-casual dining. He kept things organized, upbeat, and professional the entire time. You could tell the crew wanted to do a great job for him.

I’ll definitely be coming back to this Café Rio because of how well this manager leads his team.

I’m a weekly regular, the manager J, not sure his name but he’s always so friendly, customer service oriented. Today, I approached a very unhappy employee who was working 15 min beyond his work schedule, nothing earth shattering. Based on his unprofessional conduct,
I told him go! He paused to continue, but a female co-worker took over helping me. Thank goodness. What customer deserves that? But, this young man was extremely upset enough to voice his issues across the restaurant. None of his peers called him out. Its ashame. The manager came out escorted the employee to check out. Not sure if it was for the day or forever. One should pride themselves on their job & the company / team they represent. I certainly hope, respect & code of conduct is key for this restaurant atmosphere. Because for a place I enjoy dining at, today was not that day Dear Manager & fellow employees, I hope this young man treated you with respect, if not, he should find a different job that would make him happy!

Brought my parents who were visiting for their 1st time here. Service was quick and food was prepared freshly in front of us. Restaurant seating area and everywhere was nice and clean, music at a decent level, and staff here was super nice. The manager of the store came to checkin on us as we were seated and was very inviting. Highly recommend.

I normally don’t leave poor reviews like the one I am currently leaving.

Also, notice the huge chicken chunks in my photos. Not shredded chicken at all….. Trash cans were overflowing and tables were dirty.

My wife and I recently visited the Cafe Rio in Queen Creek, Arizona. There were only four people in line, including us. I ordered a burrito, and the employee made it and then set it aside without putting it in the heating element to melt the cheese. The employee then started working on a to-go order and did not take my wife’s order. After four or five minutes, the employee finished the to-go order and came back to us. They said, “Oh gosh, do you want something?” Then they saw the burrito and giggled and put it in the heating element.

We then got to the checkout register, and the cashier walked away and went back into the kitchen to talk and laugh with another employee. After about three or four minutes, other employees started telling the cashier to get back to the register so they could ring us out. Our food was just sitting there getting cold.

Overall, our experience at Cafe Rio Queen Creek was very disappointing. The service was poor, and our food was cold. It seemed like the employees were more interested in having fun with each other than in serving their customers.

Recommendation: I would not recommend this restaurant to others.

Can’t help but get ripped off here if you order online for pickup. I have ordered 3 separate times. 1st time food was never made, 2nd time very burnt meat, 3rd time all burritos and salads were half portions size w very little meat. We ordered from 2 locations tonight. Small burrito West from Ellsworth location, larger was from ganzel.
