Hopelessly Lost
I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this Café Rio. While eating my salad, I found a sharp piece of metal wire mixed in with the food. This is a serious safety hazard in
something that could easily injure someone if swallowed or even just bitten into.
Finding foreign objects in food is unacceptable, and it raises major concerns about kitchen cleanliness and quality control. I expect a restaurant to take basic precautions to ensure customer safety, and this incident shows a clear failure in that responsibility.

Didn’t actually eat here. Showed up around 5:55pm, went thru the line had them make a delicious looking bowl when I got to the end of pay the cashier asked if it was dine in or carry out. She quickly corrected herself saying actually they were closing right now and carry out was the only option. She told me quite rudely it was posted on the door and I should have seen it. Since I was nowhere near home and planned to eat there I had no choice but to leave.
Turns out they were closing for an employee Christmas party. That’s great and I fully support giving thanks to the employees. However my gripe is with the rude employee and the incompetent manager on duty that didn’t tell people as they were walking in or anything, just letting people get in line and think they can eat there.
I’ve included a pic of the sign on the door. Good luck picking it out with all the other documents posted on the door. It’s freezing cold out and they expect people to sit there and study them all? C’mon man

This place has gone downhill. The new staff is doing a poor job — portions are way smaller than before, especially the meat, which now comes in tiny, disappointing amounts.
My recent visits have been frustrating. Today, around 7:00 p.m., I got a piece of meat so salty it was completely inedible and had to be thrown away. The salad was carelessly prepared with huge, uncut pieces.
I used to love Café Rio in South Jordan and always gave it top ratings. But if things don’t improve immediately, you’re going to lose an entire family of loyal customers.
Management needs to seriously address the staff’s performance and the declining food quality — this is far from the excellence that once defined this location.

I eat at Cafe Rio at least twice a week. Their food is fresh and savory. They never disappoint. The staff is always friendly and willing to serve with a smile, even when it’s super busy. There is always an employee cleaning the empty tables and making sure there is enough of everything from napkins to utensils
I love Cafe Rio.

This is the best cafe Rio location by far. We’ve been going here for many years and love the staff. Some cafe rios have stopped putting cheese on the tortillas for salads but this place doesn’t cut any corners like that. The dining room is always clean and we never have a problem finding a clean table. Food and portions are always great.

Ive been eating here weekly for the last 11 years. This place has gone down hill. They got rid of so many of their great staff members. The staff here is now under trained and under experienced. The menu is now confusing and chaotic. The food is not being properly prepared or handled. They have drastically decreased portion size. Yesterday the salad house dressing was rancid and I found a major artery in the pulled pork that was not even properly pulled. My last 5 visits have been disappointing. This is no longer my favorite place to eat. Just another corporation trying to cut costs any way they can and no longer care about the quality of food or customer experience. This is so disheartening that we’ve lost another great place to eat. I probably wont be back.

The food here is good, but the service has become pretty terrible. Got dinner here tonight and had a staff member drop cheese in my wifes bowl- when asked if it could be remade due to an allergy, the guy making it did so with quite the attitude.. people got allergies folks. No need to be rude about it.

The freshness and quality of the food has really declined in the past year or so. Portion size has also shrunk, especially considering the prices. Time to either find a new Cafe Rio restaurant… or most likely, a new fast service mexican restaurant all together.
