We love Cafe Rio so we decided to check out the one nearest to our new house. Turns out this location is basically just a drive thru, mobile ordering, and a pick up window. There is almost no interaction with staff and none of the enjoyment of watching the food be made in front of you. Not a fan! The food was good like always but I will definitely be seeking out a different location.

Me and my husband have been to this location multiple times and every single times it’s not been a good experience. Yesterday we decided that next time we will be driving to a different location further away. We ordered the $20 bundle deal and drove through the drive through a few minutes later to pick it up. We told them the name on the order probably 3 different times and they told us they were out of medium sauce and asked what we wanted instead. The problem is that neither of us ordered medium sauce. So we clarified that was the wrong order, and gave them our name again, and they asked us to park and wait. They brought us an order and I had to tell them they were missing our drinks. As they walked back in we checked the bag and it was the wrong order. When they brought us 1 out of 2 of the drinks in our order, we informed them we received the wrong order, so they took the bag back and walked straight to another car and handed them the order, which is against Utah health code to re-serve food that had been served to another customer. Finally they did bring us the correct entrees, and the other drink but as we were driving away we realized they forgot our chips and queso so we had to go back through the drive through. I usually try to be very patient and understanding about mix ups but that was insane.

1 person is preparing food, 4 others are cleaning. Ordered ahead, arrived a few minutes early, waited over 15 minutes past pickup. There working on closing with 2 hours left. It wasn’t busy. Not for Cafe Rio. It was ready but they weren’t calling it out. The screen they use didn’t show my orde4. I like Rio. Won’t return to this one.

There is a reason this location is 3 star and nearly 600 reviews. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!!!! Go to another Cafe Rio. I love cafe Rio but not here.
Pretty much everything was pretty gross with this order. I honestly ate cafe rio for lunch in Midvale earlier today, I love cafe rio, but this order (and multiple past orders at the woods cross location) is worth throwing away. We picked up our order within 10 minutes of being ready.
1. Drinks – both drinks were very warm. We emptied them after finding out and got a refill or horchata, but it was still very warm, and had no cinnamon, tasted like it was going bad/rancid. Same with the mangolada.
Filled the cup with ice and got more, but after getting home, it was still disgusting, all the ice had already melted so we threw it away.
2. Chicken salad – I’m 100% convinced I got a chicken salad that was made during lunchtime that day and was left out all day.
A. ordered chips on the side, chips were on the side and on the salad. The chips on the salad
B. The chips on the salad were damp and stale as if they had been on there for hours.
C. The amount of food in the salad was far less than normal.
D. Chicken was cold and tasted odd.
E. Dressing was warm and tasted a little rancid. It was very liquidy compared to normal dressing.
F. The beans tasted odd and were cold in the center of each bean.
G. Guacamole also tasted bad
I threw away the chicken salad out of fear of food poisoning.
I havnt been to this cafe Rio in a couple years because of previous bad experiences.
I order from the Midvale restaurant often and have always had great experiences there.

Good Food. Fair Price. Just wish they were more consistant on quality. Their salsa fresca is my favorite salsa ever. We order it in the large size (quart i think) but often times it’s old and literally turning to moosh. Also seems like their “curbside” is often “Hey get out of your car and come grab it, we’re too lazy to walk it to you”. Which is impressive considering we always tip pretty well despite the fact they don’t do anything additional to earn it.
We bounce between the bountiful, layton, murray, and a few other locations. Seems like this is the common story across the board, but murray seems like the best location.

We have been going to Cafe Rio for years and go quite often. I was so excited that one opened up closer to us. I have had experienced a few great employees at this location so I keep giving it a chance even when things have been forgotten and now I am DONE. They continuously forget things in our orders and NEVER give us our receipts–or even ask if we would like them.
We use the app and it requires you to scan the actual paper receipt in order to receive points for your order(not the locations choice). The employees know this and they will avoid giving it to you so they can scan the points for themselves.
Again, I have given this location so many chances hoping that it was just an off day. But it happened again today. I drove back to get it from them in person–they quickly gave it to me when I asked for it but of course but when I scanned the barcode, they had already taken our points.
Please do better.

The ambiance sucks. Too many kiosks. Was very surprised to see this Cafe Rio like this. The food was good. It was supposed to be date night after dropping off the granddaughter in North Salt Lake, we live in Clearfield. Will never come here again but thanks the food was good.

We ordered a Tostada and 2 tacos.
1/17 2026. The ChickenTostada didn’t have any Chicken. And did not have any salad dressing. We are thinking of Not going to this Location again. They keep leaving out things from the order, this has happened before. Sad!

Not sure who they hired or had working there last night but 3 of our meals that should have come with EXTRA rice had NONE. On top of that there was a long hair in one of them. Usually this place has been pretty good, but last night flushed it all.

This specific location in Woods Cross is horribly slow and inefficient. We have visited multiple times for simple things like a side of dressing. And it literally takes 15 minutes.
There’s no interaction with the ordering process or where you order is at other than the screen that says your order is ready (when it’s actually not even being worked on).
Our last visit they called our name for the order and when we picked it up, half of the order was missing! She has to go back and complete the last half of it while we stood there!
We are done coming to this store and will drive to the other store in bountiful from now on.
