Absolutely terrible food. My order was not correct at all. I ordered chicken and they gave me the sweet pork. Everytime I’ve been to this location specifically, my order has been wrong and the service is terrible. Cafe Rio really needs to look into this location and the management cause it is seriously so gross compared to others. And it’s consistently a problem. Drive to any other cafe Rio location or go across the street to costa vida. This one is a waste of your money and time.

Hated the kiosk ordering. Prefer cafeteria style. Took longer to order and even longer to prepare. They were out of ingredients that we ordered via kiosk. Counter order could have resolved this. Staff was unhelpful with these issues. Limited portions of ingredients and sides. Worst Cafe Rio experience ever!

I went today around 3:00 ish and I was so disappointed. I ordered a beef burrito enchilada stlye and CHICKEN tortilla soup and a drink and some grilled chicken on the side. There was very little to no meat on the burrito and ONE piece of chicken and boy if you didn’t know better you wouldn’t have know it was there in the soup. My price didn’t go down to have less than what is just the minimum amount but to have way less than is what made me do a review. I drank the broth without any gratification as well as the burrito which barely had the sauce and little to no cheese. Is this how you want your business ran Cafe Rio? I would hope not but this is why I have stopped going. Today I decided to give you another try and just got a BIG reminder as to why I quit. Do better Cafe Rio.

Not the best location, weird kiosk ordering, ordered 2 tacos with double rice, only got 1 portion of rice, they did at least include the sauces. Only went here because it was closer to where I’m staying but next time will happily go to a farther location I know has better quality and staff.

Horrible, staff is rude with attitude and order is ALWAYS wrong and sloppy! The employees seem like they hate their job and take it out on customers. Clearly management doesn’t look into this location. I’ve never been to such a bad and nasty atmosphere as far as cafe rio’s and I’ve been all over SLC and Utah county! I usually live cafe rio!
The owner should get a clue, you lost my business at this location. Too many bad orders and rude, nasty employees. Learn to smile!!!

I have a picture of my tacos with three little pieces of steak strips. I took it back and showed one of the workers, and I said I need more meat in the tacos, there’s no meat. She responded you want extra meat? Lol, no, just a normal amount. Will never go back to this one again.

I appreciate this cafe rio having a drivethru. For this reason it’s the main cafe rio i go to. However quality has dropped in the last couple years. The salsa fresca used to be my favorite salsa EVER. but last couple times it was bland, and even slimey. Clearly far past expired. Burritos are still great however i think all the add ons are overpriced especially since they skimp out on them. Almost $3 for “enchilada style” which means extra sauce and cheese on top. They use to put like 8 laddles on, now it’s like 1 or 2… Barely enough to coat the aluminum trey. Extra enchilada (double price) is only 1-2 more.

Let me start with I went through the drive threw. I tried to order a steak salad and they had no steak. I settled for shredded chicken. Toppings I ordered was chips cheese, and fresca on the side. No aalad chips on my salad just 1 broken up tortillas chip. No fresca on the side, but I got all the other toppings I didn’t want anyway on the side. Not the first time of terrible service at the Midvale location. This branch sucks and I will never return.

Go to costa vida across the street instead of this cafe rio. They are consistently bad whether it is in the drive thru or going in. They make you order at a kiosk and skimp you on so many ingredients. I ask for no rice and double beans and they barely giveme beans and probably a quarter of the meat that they should. The food is poorly prepared and it is hard to ask them to correct it as there is no cafeteria style ordering like regular cafe rios. They act like they running out of beans, rice, and meat by the way they add it to your food. The food is always cold and makes nervous about whether it’s safe to eat. Also they consistently don’t read the name on the order as I have been called names that aren’t even close to mine.

This is my favorite Café Rio location! A couple of times my order hasn’t been quite ready when I arrived, and every time the staff has immediately offered me a drink on the house. It’s such a simple but thoughtful way to acknowledge their customers’ time and show they care.
I eat at Café Rio quite often and at other locations, I’ve waited up to half an hour past my pickup time with zero acknowledgment, so the difference here really stands out. The employees at this location are always friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind.
Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the area and craving Café Rio—this team truly goes above and beyond!
