We had to order our food 3 times in the drive through and when we got to the window, they still had to ask what we ordered (we ordered 4 of the exact same salads). Once we got home with our food, there was barely half a salad or less in each of the salads. Unless the portions changed recently, they were the most depressing salads we’ve ever seen from Cafe Rio. Also one of the salads had a giant piece of plastic glove in the dressing.

Got a bowl here, I live in Kuna and it was almost laughable how little of food I got. I asked for chicken and they barely gave me ANY FOOD. Picture for reference the kuna location is amazing. The star location sucks and I will not be back

Manager was upbeat with his employees and his guests. He was very knowledgeable and helpful when making it choices regarding the menu items. he also was generous in his serving sizes as well as when we only had a 20 to pay with our meal was seven dollars more he made it so it was just $20 so we didn’t have to be embarrassed. He also hooked us up with a free Large drink to leave a review and so it made us feel valued, but also more willing to leave a good review because the overall experience was fantastic. The previous customer was asking for bizarre items and made us wait super long in the line and the manager was aware of this and made our experience so much better.

I went a few months ago and the rice was crunchy and the tres leches was so dry. I decided to give it another try today because its close to my house. Ordered to go a salad, tostada and a kids meal. They only gave us one dressing, our kids meal was missing a side, they scooped salsa into one of the dividers and it spilled all over the food. We got chips and guac and they gave us queso instead. And we got horchata and it was pure syrup, I think they loaded the machine with the concentrate? I called in and they offered a refund but I will not be returning. Next time I’ll spend the time to drive to Costa Vida and get my order correctly and way better food!

I have been going to Cafe Rio locations across the PNW for about 10 years, and unfortunately this location was subpar from my experience. While the staff is great, the food I ordered was half the portion typical to most others in the valley. If you can manage the drive, I would recommend those locations rather than this one

Food was mostly super good. The guacamole looked terrible and WAS terrible. Like so bad. And they forgot the sweet pork on my friend’s sweet pork salad!!

We used Cafe Rio in Star for a catered event at our church. Everything was perfect from the ordering process to the food. Great quality, excellent quantities for a large crowd (>100 people), service from Heather the catering manager was outstanding! Highly recommend for any event >20 people. Hard to beat the price and the quality. And who doesn’t LOVE tacos!! Thank you Cafe Rio Star for making our event a huge success!

I ordered ahead through the app because I thought it would save me time from waiting for the food to be finished. But no. 20 minutes after ordering I arrived to pick up my food at the appointed time and it wasn’t ready. I proceeded to wait 35 minutes for my food to be finished. In this time, I watched countless people go through the main line, get their food, and leave. It was EXTREMELY frustrating. And on top of that, I got my tacos with 0 toppings. I had ordered 4 different toppings and got none of them. Just chicken by itself in a taco. One of the worst food experiences I’ve ever had.

Super messy/dirty looking food prep area. Hot sauce looked like it had a narly layer of disgusting skin over the top… burrito so big and sloppy that I couldn’t pick it up and eat like a normal burrito. Place is narly. Maybe lunch rush, but -y’all can do better. Not feeling that great after eating it. “Not sure why i did that to myself.” Some times you want that from Mexican food, but – I was hoping for different outcome.
