This is the absolute worst Mexican food I think I’ve ever had in my entire life. I was recommended this place by some class mates who said it was better than chipotle so I tried it. All I can say is they were lying through their teeth. I’m in absolute disbelief how anyone thinks this place could top my goat chipotle. First I walk in and order a burrito, workers are impolite and I have to repeat every sentence I say even though I’m speaking up. I order a burrito with pinto beans and chicken, the scoop of rice was pitiful. They then proceed to wrap the burrito cylindrically instead of like a burrito causing all of the contents of the burrito to fall out when you pick it up, hence defeating the purpose of a BURRITO. We then get to the checkout where me and my girlfriends burritos and a large drink are 30 dollars. We go to fill our drink and fill our cup with this mango jalapeño lemonade which was absolutely awful. I had to spit it out because it tasted so bad. We then sit down and I try eating my burrito which then falls apart immediately. I ended up having to ditch the tortilla and eat my burrito like a bowl which I honestly should have ordered in the first place. Overall this experience was something from another planet and I can’t believe this has an overall rating of 4.1 stars. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

We go to Café Rio almost every week and are never disappointed, the food is delicious, generous portions and great flavors, sometimes the tacos have a too much meat when you ask for double meat! The TOSTADAS are the usual we order on WEDNESDAY because of the deal. The SWEET PORK is delish and cilantro lime dressing is a great combo. The drink selection they have is impressive, Coke products and Café Rio official drinks. Mint Limeade, sweet prickly pear, and black tea are refreshing and pair exquisitely with the meal. They also have Horchata, if you’re into that. The service is okay, a lot of the time the workers can’t hear your order thanks to the glass partition and the din of the kitchen.

Have been going to this location for almost 10 years. Used to be one of my favorite places for take out. But today I had a bad experience and wanted to warn anyone going that prices and portion sizes changed. I would be rating lower, but I have gotten good service almost every time before today. The new lady said they are training everyone to give less and charge more. I won’t be going back.

Love the food, service is great…but food was luke warm when it should be kept at hot temperatures. Went there at the end of May 2025 and again at end of July 2025…same issue. The dining area was very cold. Hard to comfortably eat when you are feezing. I love Cafe Rio. I how you see this review and make a couple of adjustments. Thank you.

I always recommend Cafe Rio for catering events and I will use them again. This time was for my daughter’s wedding. After everything was set up by the Cafe Rio staff and they had left, when it came time to heat the food and eat we realized they did not put the food pans inside the reheating pans that hold the water and smaller food pans to enable to light the fuel. When the guests started scooping their food the pans fell through the frames and onto the fuel and tablecloths making a mess. This was not a food problem but a set up problem. When I called the store they sent out another staff member with the correct pans but by this time the guests had already gone through the line. Would have been much less stress if done right the first time.

I usually like Cafe Rio but recently the quality has went wayyyy down, I blame the economy. The past couple times I’ve tried to give them a chance the food was terrible, soggy chips, cold food, poor quality taste. I waited 2 hours for a delivery & they did absolutely nothing to make it right, didn’t keep the food warm, didn’t remake it, didn’t offer any form of compensation. In my opinion the staff is unprofessional they don’t make the food right, you can be standing there for several minutes while they’re having a completely non-work related conversation before they acknowledge you. Hate to say it but I don’t think I’ll be back & will have to go somewhere better quality like Qdoba or similar.

I’m not a huge burrito bowl place person, but the family insisted on stopping here. The food absolutely blew me out of the water. I was beyond impressed and will definitely be coming back. Staff were out of this world friendly and made the experience.

What happened to this place?? Only stars achieved are because the food still at least tastes halfway decent. Just look at the photo this is how much meat was put on my tacos for taco tuesday. You be the judge…
