This place is a hidden gem and has the best breakfast in the greater Athens area in my opinion. You have to order online in advance and do a pick up time. There is no inside access only, drive thru pick up only. In the best way possible it’s like one of those hole in the wall places that has the best food you’ve ever had in your life. Every time I come to Athens I want to come here. Their biscuits, donuts, and lattes are incredible. I love the master biscuit and their donut holes. Once you try it you’ll want to make it apart of your Athens itinerary every time

Cafe Racer is the size of a shipping container on the side of the road. It’s drive thru only. We placed an order online for a Saturday pickup on 1/15/22 at 9:00. That was the move because we didn’t have to wait as long. Staff was really nice.
Here’s what I had:
– TaterBoi ($7): Biscuit with cheddar cheese, tater patty, egg, and jalapeño cream cheese. Underwhelmed. $7 for a biscuit without meat is too much. There was too much cream cheese. I wouldn’t get this again.
– Nookie: Suuuuper good. Filled with something like Oreo cream. It was amazing.
– Blueberry Cake Donut: My sister really talked this up, but I didn’t think it was that great. The donut itself was just a regular cake donut. The blueberry part was only in the icing. I wish they had actual blueberries in the donut.
I had pretty high expectations and unfortunately, Cafe Racer didn’t live up to them for my first time there. I’ll give it another shot though.

Holy cow! I’ve driven by this place for a LONG time and never stopped. A coworker was like you’ve got to try their donut holes. So I did today, and they were simply amazing. So I was nice and gave him one today. Now he’s told me I need to try their biscuits. I guess that’s next in my list. Oh, the coffee is good too!

Terrible restaurant. We placed an online order to be picked up at 11:10. When we got there at 11:10 we had to “check in” so our food is fresh. Then they started to make the food. They then preceded to spend an hour and a half making said food. It’s breakfast, not rocket science. I recommend going to McDonalds before you try this pathetic excuse for a restaurant. It’s 12:40 and we still haven’t gotten our food and 0 apologies from the staff.

This is my special treat place- for me and my dog, who gets free bacon! I drive 35 minutes for a biscuit and coffee. But they are unlike anything else in Oglethorpe and Madison County and there is no substitute! Friendly and kind service makes us feel special. Lawn chairs for hanging out and free smiles.

I had heard really great things about this place and it exceeded my expectations. We tried three different biscuits, all of which were packed full of fillings and super tasty. The coffee was very nice, not bitter at all and not overly sweet- way better than Starbucks and comparably priced. Of course we also had to try the donuts. They’re the not too heavy and were fresh and flavorful. I also appreciate the COVID protocols in place so you don’t have to make contact at pickup like many drive through places. Overall would highly recommend.
