The Spanikopita was ok. Not a fan. The Greek salad this time didnt have fresh looking veggies such as cucumbers looked dehydrated (as if getting old), the tomatoes had a weird color & the green peppers aren’t cleaned properly. Not a fan of this meal but the dips & sauces are on point. And great pita.
I have also tried the shrimp kabob, the tiramisu, and the lamb shank. I honestly look forward to trying every single item on the menu! I would highly recommend Cafe Petra to anyone who loves outstanding food!
The service was fast and friendly as well. Decor was bright and fun. A new favorite for sure!
The items were consistent with other good places, but two items really stood out and would recommend others to try them if they are fans.
The filafel was off the chart and very fresh. The manager came out to check for customer satisfaction and explained that the filafel was not made out of “powder” like other places. The side tahini sauce was properly prepared, but just a little bitter, on the end, for my palate.
The spanikopita was also very good. The crust was flaky and the spinach was fresh and tender the bechémel sauce was not overly rich, and was properly salted.
The hummus had a coarse texture to it, and tasted very fresh, and homemade.
The chicken, the gyro meat, pita bread, and the grecian sauce were comparable to other places.
The lebanese tea was fresh and properly prepared.
The baklava was good and did not have copious amounts of sugar drizzle like at other places. I prefer it without the extra sugar.
I was impressed by the lamb I observed being cooked while on my visit, but had ordered too much food to also order that.
Please see the attached pictures of the lamb being made.
I will definitely be back to try the lamb and the moussaka.
There is a drive thru window for easy pick up, and a coupon for first time online orders.
I would have loved it more if it were made with basmati rice and if it had a little bit of yellow color.
