I’ve been eating here literally for almost 10yrs and over that time the service has went downhill. I’m not sure who’s at fault, the one’s doing the cooking or if it’s the one’s taking the orders, but my order was wrong two days in a row. My order today was wrong twice! I ordered a hot sausage egg and cheese with mayo salt pepper and ketchup, on a croissant, but I got a regular sausage patty egg and cheese with just mayo. I took it back to get my original order, but instead got a mild sausage egg and cheese with no mayo or ketchup on a hard almost burnt croissant. Yesterday I ordered a Jewish Hoagie with lettuce pickles tomato hot peppers, extra mayo light oil and vinegar, but my sandwich was missing the pickles, it barely had any mayo on it but instead mustard, and waaayy too much oil and vinegar. At this point I need to stop coming here and go to another location. I used to love this spot, but now I’m very disappointed with their current service.

Its a small establishment, serving a small variety of food. The coffee is ok, gets the job done, but I feel like the prices of sandwiches and things alike are expensive. My first order was a wrap, they serve it with tortilla chips, very stale.

I am new to the area (for work) and happened to stop in old Nelson on Arch St for a quick sandwich. The prices are great , the service is even better, the staff are so nice and accommodating. I have had a few bad experiences for lunch and Old Nelson is NOT one of them! I will be returning really soon… I ordered the grilled chicken and sun dried tomato pannini … I quick asked them to sub out the pesto for some mayo and did not even bat an eye! Thank you 10/10

They charge any price they choose to charge. I got the same order two days in the row & paid different prices each day. It depends who is on the register. This location is not like other locations. Their food is not great at all & they are way too expensive. One time I asked for Turkey bacon & they still gave me pork bacon. Save your money & go elsewhere.

I have never been to any Old Nelson establishment where the food wasn’t good. So when I decided to go to the store located on 15th and Arch, there were no doubts. Unfortunately, I was wrong. My sandwich was not satisfying at all. The bread was so stale that just squeezing it caused it to fall apart. My hot peppers were soft and mushy. The sandwich was very tasteless. I would say the service was pleasant, which is why I gave them 1 star. It wasn’t worth the expensive sacrifice.

I’ve tried to look pass the overcharging since we are downtown and its convenient but I can’t anymore. First it’s the overpriced items in the store, overpriced food & then always an issue with the debit card machine knowing most people are not carrying cash around. But today was it for me, I called about 20 mins early to place an order for a breakfast sandwhich and I get into the place at 8:55 and they tell me I didn’t order anything thing, I had to read my order over again to them and tell the man you asked me if I wanted 1 eggs or 2 and then all of a sudden he remembered. First it was they are still making the sandwich and then it was oh we gave it to someone else! They need to put a better system in place as far as people ordering over the phone! Ask for a name? Ask for a number? Give an order number? Something to confirm people are paying for and taking the right food. Also two weeks ago when I again ordered over the phone they said they were still making it but they couldn’t have been because again I ordered about 20 mins ahead. I was about to leave and just say forget the food but I asked once again and the girl said oh I’m sorry it’s right here… only for me to go to work sit down and get ready to eat and it was the wrong sandwich. They need to do better and I really doubt I’ll ever spend my money there again. Overpriced and unorganized.

So my honest opinion
is the two people who make your food are not pleasant at all! The only nice one is the cashier man. Also one thing I don’t like is there prices are extremely high! It’s outrageously expensive for a regular sandwich that you can get from wawa for half the price! They really need to lower there prices and tell the two people the man and women to be more kind to their customers.

A cut above the average breakfast/lunch joint. Salads are freshly made on site as ordered and ate excellent. This includes delicious chicken salad (never had the egg or tuna salads, but know they too are freshly made there). Sandwiches are also made to order and, unlike the other Old Nelson’s, this one has a grill. Started eating there in 2007 and still go out of my way to eat there
