This place was amazing, we got the banana foster and dirty chai latte.. SO GOOD and so pretty.
For food we had the Italian Benedict & Migas. Also amazing.
My 1 year old had the grilled cheese which was amazing. They were family friendly and super hospitable.
Amazing place.
Only thing I’d add is that they should have some kind of signature seafood & creole dish because it is a “NOLA” cafe.

Tried this the other day for the first time. Cute little spot with friendly staff and good food and drink options. My meal came with potatoes which were a little undercooked but mentioned it to the waitress and she brought out new ones without any issues. The latte was good as was the peach bellini. Would go back. Prices are also decent.

Absolutely this place! The service is always outstanding, the lattes are tasty and beautiful, and the food is fantastic. My Lox Benedict had an extremely generous amount of salmon on it. I get lox at every breakfast/brunch place I go, and I’ve never had a restaurant that gave this much. Definitely get your money’s worth here!

They had trouble accommodating our party of 7 (which included 3 kids), but eventually got us seated a half hour later two tables side-by-side. Once seated, service was great with a charming part-diner part-coffeehouse part-restaurant vibe. The food was excellent, from the utterly stuffed salmon/lox bagel to a generous eggy scramble. Mocha coffee was on point, delicious.

First time trying them today, and we loved it! We got a breakfast sandwich and burrito to eat with a latte and cortado to drink. Everything came out quick, hot, and delicious! We’ll definitely be back, and would recommend trying them if you haven’t already.

First things first. This is not New Orleans. Not southern. So get that out of your head lol
Apparently, Nola is the name of a (former) owners’ Grandma.
The food is still good. The weights can be somewhat long, especially on weekends. Very inclusive and accepting culture here.
A little overpriced.
What is the experience. The drink menu is crazy lol I got one of the drinks. Nothing to write home about.
I got the fried chicken sandwich. It was really good! The fries are fresh cut. And we also got the turkey sandwich.

Great place for some pastry and bread like desserts. Most of the bread like desserts taste about the same but they are all good.

This was our second visit to Cafe Nola. The first time we were turned away, told they weren’t seating anyone else that afternoon. Needless to say we were anxious to try this hot spot. We were sat right next to the door, which was unfortunate, as an icy draft came in every time someone entered or exited. My date got coffee, but I was told they were out of Diet Coke, and had no other sugar free options, so water it was. I was told the coffee was excellent. Later she got a Cafe Mocha, which apparently was also great. We started with the Southwest eggrolls, with a smokey tomato mayo. They were crispy and delicious. I ordered the bagel and lox sandwich with fried capers. The bagel should have been toasted, but otherwise it was very good. The pickled onions were a nice touch. That’s where the good ends. My date ordered the coffee rubbed steak and eggs. She said the coffee was gritty and unpleasant in her mouth, the steak was otherwise unseasoned, and very watery. As she cut into her steak, the entire plate was a pool of liquid, making the eggs and potatoes soggy. Our service was very underwhelming. Our server was not very pleasant, never checked on us to see how we liked our food, and when he came to collect our dishes and saw the steak had barely been touched, didn’t inquire or offer a to-go box. Would probably return for coffee and apps, but was not impressed with much else. Lunch for two was $60.

The top review at the time of my posting this says something to the effect of: “This isn’t New Orleans, get that out of your head.” But I think that’s an understatement. I’m from Missouri – fried chicken and general “southern cooking” were not staples in my life. However, at least we had standards when it came to breakfast.
If Cafe Nola is “acceptable” breakfast in Maryland, I should probably quit my job and open a breakfast joint, because this state is ripe for the picking in that department.
We ordered breakfast for dinner and this was easily the worst food we’ve had since we moved to Frederick last year. We ordered two rounds of Biscuits & Gravy (B&G) with french fries – sweet potato and regular. Along with that, we got two sides of “thick cut” bacon.
The biscuits were a step below Pillsbury canned biscuits: they tasted like they came from an expired discount rack at Costco. They were bland, dense, and mechanically uniform. The french fries were limp and underseasoned. You could see salt on them, but you couldn’t taste it. Largely they tasted like the outside of an unwashed potato and depression-era sadness. The bacon, well… There’s no planet on which it can be called “thick cut.” It was only marginally thicker than microwave bacon with the same level of flavor. I’ve genuinely had better bacon from McDonald’s.
The gravy, however, which could have redeemed everything we got, was instead the most offensive thing we received. Not only was it watery and broken, it featured the saddest sausage I’ve ever had – I literally could not even taste it. The gravy tasted like pure fat (think crisco, not bacon) and way too much sage. There was literally NO other flavor. I felt like I was eating uncooked lard with a pinch of pepper and a handful of sage. It was absolutely atrocious.
If you’ve ever had a decent breakfast in your life, do NOT eat at Cafe Nola. On the flipside, if you think Cafe Nola is a decent breakfast, you need to travel more.

If brunch had a heartbeat, it would sound like Nola on a sunny weekend morning. The moment you walk in, the place wraps you in good energy—warm, lively, and just a touch Southern in spirit. And then there’s Kaylee, our brunch guardian angel. She was superb from start to finish—thoughtful, upbeat, and armed with the kind of helpful charm that makes you feel like you’re dining at a friend’s kitchen table (a very talented friend with a great cocktail menu).Speaking of cocktails, Nola’s drinks are perfectly curated. The Bloody Mary is an event in itself—spicy, tangy, and artfully balanced. The Lox Benedict, meanwhile, earns a standing ovation: rich, delicious comfort with a little twist of brilliance.Between Kaylee’s fantastic care, the exceptional food, and the joyful hum of the place, Nola doesn’t just serve brunch—it delivers the kind of experience that lingers with you long after the last sip. I highly recommend.
