The experience is defined by the modern outdoor seating area, which is beautifully framed by striking artwork painted directly onto the surrounding brick buildings.

Love this café. Love the design. They display local airwork on the white walls and there is a small art gallery next door.
Good coffee, and the barista is nice, honestly I can’t taste the differences between all the local café.
Their croissant really stands out and makes a big difference compared to the others. They got them from Madeleines Patisserie, pretty popular patisserie that serve nationwide. It is flaky, not too buttery, texture is well done.
The outdoor sitting behind the café is very creative. Looks like they are made from old water main pipe. Take a look at the pictures.
Parking is on the street. There is no parking lot. And they are adjacent to some trash houses, an interesting contrast with the vibe of the café.
Service can be a little slow sometimes, depends on who is working. There is 3% surcharge and 1.5%credit card fee now. ☹️

Extremely cold service, wasn’t greeted or even acknowledged! Literally just a staring contest. Ridiculously overpriced. $5.50 for a mini cookie? $40 for a 8 oz jar of peanut butter that’s collected dust! All this in an establishment with dirty plates, tables, floors and countertops. I’m confused with all the positive reviews.

I really enjoyed the hot drip coffee from Cafe Noir! It wasn’t my personal favorite, mostly because I prefer cozy vibes with nice seating since I’m a student. It was a little sterile, but this is great if you are looking for that sleek/modern vibe! They have beautiful artwork inside and out of the building. I’d definitely be back to try a latte or cold brew 🙂

Café Noir is truly a hidden gem in Detroit! I stumbled upon this quaint little coffee shop with my daughter, and it’s now one of our favorite spots to relax and study. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting—perfect for getting work done or just enjoying a quiet moment. The barista was incredibly friendly and suggested the French Toast Iced Coffee with blueberries—and wow, it did not disappoint! Unique, flavorful, and refreshing. You can tell they put care into every cup. We’ll definitely be coming back soon. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

A lil pricy yet a great treat! I had a match latte with lavender. It was creamy, rich and delicious. My friend and I sat there for almost 3 hours talking. Peaceful atmosphere and the outside art is definitely a vibe.

Coming to Café Noir is a real treat for many reasons. They have a plethora of pastries to select from, including some I had never heard of before. I tried their raspberry croissant, and while it was slightly too sweet for me, the texture was wonderful soft and buttery. Their coffee was great, served in nice thick mugs. The space itself is a good place to work with plenty of seating.
Part of what makes Café Noir special is their connection to the art gallery next door. You can grab a coffee, and then go to the art gallery to see Black artists’ work for sale.

Highly overpriced, but the atmosphere is alright and the building carries some nice sun exposure. Not many food options to choose from. Worth a trip if you’re willing to pay $7 for a latte before tip.

I absolutely adore this coffee shop! The atmosphere, pastries, and seasonal drinks were all so amazing. Leah (forgive my spelling if incorrect) was so sweet and helpful and recommended amazing drinks for my friend and I. Will definitely be stopping back in soon! I reccomend the raspberry croissant and the strawberry matcha

Our family seriously loves this coffee shop. The French vibe is apparent with their cool marble tables and the black and white theme.
Plus the coffee is sooo good and the pastries are delicious. A beautiful addition to this neighborhood 🙂
