Ultrathin lasagna, wood-fired pizzas & other simple trattoria fare in a spare, open space.

Cafe Lago was a delicious Italian dinner with friends on a weeknight. The atmosphere inside is intimate and well decorated, with a small bar area but plenty of room overall. The menu isn’t massive, but there was something for everyone at our table which had a variety of limitations (vegetarian, non alcoholic, etc.) The drinks we received were all tasty and the appetizers pretty dang good. The tomato crostini appetizer in particular was absolutely phenomenal.
The entrees were similarly strong, if not a bit on the blander side. For example, my lasagna was solid but I’d have appreciated more spice or a protein in the mix. Overall, had a great time and would come back.

Cafe Lago is a very solid Italian spot in the Seattle area. The ravioli is a must-try, and contrary to many reviews, I actually enjoyed the pastas more than the pizza. I’ve had better pizzas elsewhere in Seattle — the dough here was on the chewier side with lower hydration.
Their tiramisu was good standard for any italian restaurant
The restaurant is fairly loud. While the interiors are nice, the tables are quite close together, which makes it less ideal for an intimate date night. That said, the food quality and excellent service make it a place worth visiting in Seattle.

First time visiting Cafe Lago, and lets just say it didn’t dissapoint. From the time we arrived to the time we left. The service, impeccable, watching the kitchen turn out food in such a professional manner was amazing. Ordered Margarita pizza to start, and Caesar salad. The pizza was excellent, super sauce and cooked perfect, nice crunch, amazing. The Caesar was excellent, the dressing was so good, and presentation was done really well. I ordered the lasagna, and my wife got the Gnocchi. Lasagna, probably the best I’ve had in my 55 years living here. I mean, amazing!!!! The Gnocchi, so delicious, she ate it so fast I only got 1 bite, but it was worth it. Great cook, great flavor, really good.. our server (Abella, hope that’s right? Was fantastic, very attentive to our needs at all times. All in all, make a reservation, you’ll most likely need one.. Bottom line, go here, you won’t regret it. 5 stars all the way around.

We ordered the lasagna and the linguine with mussels+ drinks. The lasagna was impressively light and fluffy, featuring incredibly thin layers that gave it an airy texture–highly recommended! The linguine was equally fantastic, with fresh, perfectly al dente pasta. I especially appreciated that the generous portion of mussels came pre-shelled, ensuring a seamless dining experience without any stray shell fragments.

This place serves excellent appetizers and drinks. Atmosphere is so cute. They always run out of lasagna whenever I go, which has been a bummer. I had to go at 5:30 to be able to get one. But I LOVE their apps and drinks. Pizza and vegetarian pasta entrees are decent not amazing

Absolutely loved it. Started with the broccolini app & bread service, both so good. Lasagna was delicious, highly recommend. Was able to bring in our own bottle of wine for a $30 corkage fee. Great selection of wine, cocktails & mocktails though. Definitely will return.

Cafe Lago understood the assignment. The broccolini was a green dream. I regret not ordering the pear dessert and tiramisu twice each—rookie mistake. They ran out of the lasagna (rude), but Seattle food critics swear it’s the best in town, so I’m clearly coming back. Vibes? Immaculate. Cozy, charming, delicious chaos.

As someone who truly appreciates Italian cuisine, particularly pasta, I chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner with high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite meet my hopes.
I ordered the meatball pasta, and while the noodles had a nice texture and were cooked well, the overall dish fell short of expectations. The meatballs had a processed quality that reminded me of frozen options, and the tomato sauce tasted quite basic. Given the price point, I felt the pasta didn’t deliver the authentic Italian flavors I was hoping for.
However, I must highlight that their pizza was genuinely excellent – perfectly baked with great flavor balance and wonderful texture. The kitchen clearly has strong pizza-making skills.
For fellow pasta enthusiasts, I’d suggest exploring other options, but if you’re a pizza lover, this place is definitely worth a visit. The restaurant has potential, and I hope they can bring the same quality they achieve with their pizza to their pasta dishes

Visited here for the first time and as a local I was less than impressed. The hostess started with sitting us at a wobbly 2 top table for our reserved dinner during a time they were not busy. It seemed to be an issue to ask to move once our server finally greeted us. I felt as if sometimes they assume since you’re young you don’t deserve the service that is expected with the price of their menu.
The food attached was not worth returning to say the least. The lasagna was full of ricotta (my favorite) but rather dry and unable to cut with the knit they provided. The pizza was also dry despite it coming with “white sauce.” The best part of my experience was the starter that included goat cheese and tomato.
Overall, they got one thing right which was the starter. The service, the main course, and the atmosphere is not anything I would return for or recommend to anyone visiting.

This outstanding restaurant is well worth finding when you visit Seattle. The lasagna is like no other you can find. Very light, delicate noodles, ricotta cheese that is fluffy and highlighted with just a sprinkle of spinach. And the sauce, delicate also. Very flavorful. The pizza had the thinnest crust I’ve ever experienced, and it was crispy even in the center! Amazing. Service was warm and friendly, very prompt. The house wine, pictured here tasted better than most, with dark spicy notes. Only four stars for the atmosphere, as it was loud, as so many restaurants are these days. But truly, this is a great Italian restaurant, and not to be missed!
