This is the best hidden secret dining in Lakeway! Their food is delicious, top quality, comes out quickly and hot every time, and has amazing service. The atmosphere is lovely as you have people of all ages. You’ll see locals, police officers, or firemen enjoying the food as well. It has a homey local town feeling. You just feel good when you eat here! I highly recommend it.

First time to Cafe Lago and we will definitely be coming back! We came on a Saturday morning were able to get seated immediately. Pancakes were the best!!! Really friendly staff, and everything was a great price. We’ll be back next weekend!

Great food, laid back home town Cafe feel. Not a place to go if you are in a hurry. But if you want to chat with the waitress about kids or share a story with someone you just met all while enjoying yummy food and coffee this is the place to be.

Cafe Lago is located in Lakeway Village Square. We read good reviews about the restaurant. Went for breakfast on a weekday. The place was pretty well packed when we arrived. A few empty seats were still there. We were seated promptly by a friendly waitress. Service was friendly and prompt. Food was delicious. Definite worth trying out.

Was in the mood for some pancakes and did a quick search and Cafe Lago came up. The food was really good and the place was pretty crowded when I showed up. I ordered pancakes and the ABC omelette and both were really good. I am going to come by again when I have the urge for pancakes. Cafe Lago is definitely worth a stop if you are looking for a place for breakfast.

Looking for a new breakfast place, hoping to find a “regular” place, we came upon Café Lago. It’s small and although they have an outdoor patio, this day was quite chilly and we wanted to dine inside… and so did everyone else. All the tables were full, but there was no one else waiting for a table at that time. There doesn’t seem to be any sign up sheet/list, so stay near by and keep an eye out for people leaving their table. The staff are certainly busy but just seemed odd that no one would talk to you until you are at a table.

We didn’t wait long for our table and once seated, we were immediately greeted and our drink orders were taken. The staff are very friendly and personable. It was our first time so we were just looking over the menu and deciding between breakfast or lunch. So, we decided on one of each.

I had the “Jake’s Eggs” and my friend had a turkey sandwich. We also had a slice of the French Toast. And to drink I had the iced tea. For starters, the tea is freshly brewed. You really have to appreciate a place that will brew their tea instead of using instant. We didn’t have to wait very long before the food came out. The plates were full and the food was fresh and hot.

For starters, the French Toast is made from raisin Texas toast and it looks like something you would see on the menu. The pictures always look better than the food, but this looked amazing! And looks were deceiving; I realize French Toast can seem pretty basic, but you don’t want to pass this up even if it’s just to share a slice or two with someone.

The Jake’s Eggs is just scrambled eggs with a lot added in. It’s probably really good if you are very hungry but not if you want something light. I had the hash browns and tortilla. It’s a decent egg meal but not something I would order regularly. The sandwich was kind of plain. The turkey was fresh and came with corn chips.

So, overall it’s a nice place but not a place I would pick as a “regular”. They are very nice and it’s a quaint place, good prices. But the food was just okay. I would consider giving it another try in the future and see if the food is any better.

Enjoyed the great service and food! We had Jake’s Eggs and a bacon and cheese omelet. The homemade salsa was very good. Cappuccino was good too. We arrived around 1030am (Sunday) and had a 30 minute wait for a table inside. Will be back.

We love the smaller town vibe. A lot of locals gather here for a great meal and visit.
The food is excellent, choices are plentiful, and the service is always good. Self-service seating eliminates waiting and the staff is prompt with menu’s and drinks.
It’s our go-to spot when in Lakeway!

Served me a highly overpriced Iced mocha after messing up the order the first time. The drink was watery and dull with very little substance. They allowed me to replace the drink for a london fog, which was also lackluster. Outdated and low quality scenery made me want to leave the diner as soon as possible. Overall low quality place with metropolitan prices just to get something mediocre/bad.
