Our reservation wasn’t until 8, but we got there at 7:15 and they sat us immediately. Everything was wonderful from start to finish. As an appetizer we tried the Zydeco shrimp and oyster combo and the seafood stuffed mushrooms. They were absolutely amazing! Although both were exceptional, the mushrooms were to die for!! Hubby had the seafood platter for his entree and I had the trio oysters !! Also absolutely wonderful!! My mixed drinks were perfect. Not weak at all!! I am a whiskey drinker and had woodford reserve and it was just right. Normally when you order mixed drinks at restaurants, they are over priced and weak. 5 stars for us!!! We will be back!! Ask for Macy!! She was perfect and very attentive!!

First timers – even after hearing about this place forever. Could not be more pleased. Some of the best food I’ve ever had in a restaurant. We’ve tried charbroiled oysters all over the state and these cannot be beat. Our server, Martha, was an absolute GEM and only added to the already great atmosphere. Top notch dining.

Just simply the best of the best. Well worth the money. The owner cooks at the oyster bar and loves to shake your hand. The atmosphere can be loud but that’s how we like it down here. You won’t regret coming!

I came to Cafe Josephine for my mom’s birthday today. The atmosphere was nice. The dish I actually had was the chicken and sausage gumbo, which was okay, but the chicken, for some reason, tasted gross. This place gets five stars, because I know their fried catfish is the bomb, like I said in another comment. Next time I come here, that’s what I will have, the fried catfish with french fries.

The charbroiled oysters are to die for! The chicken fried ribeye was delicious and tender. Everything I tasted was world-class! A perfect example of the great dining everywhere in Acadiana. If you haven’t been here, you owe it to yourself to make a reservation.

Trey did a fabulous job welcoming us and being a great server. Very attentive and quick with drink refills. Met the owner/chef as well. Very welcoming and food was fantastic. Was our first time here but we will be back and soon. Already told co workers and friends how marvelous it was.

In a word excellent! The food was hot, fresh, flavorful, served timely and delicious. Annnnnnnnd they honor their reservations!!! The staff was courteous, very attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, and professional. The restaurant was clean, in order, and has a great atmosphere. We (group of 4) had the crawfish nachos, chargrilled oysters, corn and crab bisque, lamb chops, shrimp and grits, seafood egg rolls, seafood platter, pecan pie and bread pudding with praline sauce. Everything was good! Good value for the price. We’ll definitely be back!

I do not generally give a five star rating, but his place deserved it. It was my first time there and when I come back to south La. to visit family and friends, I will be going back here. They took our quickly, and the food was out to us very quickly. The food was delicious. The service was some of the best service that I have had in a long time. See y’all next trip back. Oh, those tuna tacos were spot on. Fantastic flavor!!
