⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a wonderful experience at Café Herrera! Despite it being a busy night, our servers Jalan and Megan were absolutely phenomenal — attentive, friendly, and truly went above and beyond to make sure our entire family had everything we needed.

The food was delicious, and I especially appreciated that the chicken tacos were gluten-free, which made ordering easy and stress-free. The flavors were fresh, portions were generous, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

Highly recommend if you’re in Dallas and looking for great service and even better food. We’ll definitely be back!

Sunday late dinner 9 pm, I had a Gin and Tonic “ it was perfect” really good size. The chip came warm and the salsa was good, I ordered for dinner “las flautas” very authentic. Nice place a cross the Omnia Hotel.

Unfortunately, this was a complete miss for us. I’m staying at the Omni for a conference, and this place is conveniently located just across the lot and the menu looked good.

We were seated and given chips and salsa right away. Our server, Daniel, was very busy with a few large groups of conference goers, and it took awhile to get our order. He did apologize for the wait, but at some point, you think the manager or someone else would have helped him with his tables.

We ordered the guacamole, shrimp fajitas, and shrimp enchiladas with salsa Verde. The guac came out quickly and the presentation was beautiful, however it was way too salty. We both love salt on our food, but this was too much. We took one bite each and told the manager. We could see all of the chefs and manager trying it in the back, and when I asked her if she thought it was salty, she supported her chefs and said she must be used to it that way.

Our food came and I thought my shrimp fajitas was delicious. The shrimp were seasoned well as well as the vegetables. It was a very generous portion all together. The guac that came with it was from the exact same batch as our appetizer and so it stayed on the plate. Be better and think that through next time.

My BF’s salsa Verde was again way too salty. Not sure if this was done purposefully (we’ll just say it wasn’t) and that the chef just has a heavy hand when seasoning. Again, we saw them taste it in the back when the manager inquired if anything was wrong with the food. My BF is an artisan cook, so he knows about seasoning, and absolutely requires food is properly salted, so when he thinks it’s too salty, it’s a problem.

When the bill came, the manager was very kind and took both the guac and enchiladas off the bill and didn’t say anything. We appreciated it very much and thought it was the appropriate action.

Between the host and the server, we could tell they didn’t really want to be working. They put in as minimal effort as possible at their job. The bus girl and the manager were extremely efficient and hard working to offset the rest of the staff.

We won’t be back, and I hope this was just a bad night, and that the service and food can be better. I don’t recommend this place, but if you go, I hope you have a better experience than we did.

First time being here for brunch for Cinco de Mayo and the service was great. Our server was respectful and personable. The brisket in the flautas were flavorful and tender. The drinks were beautifully crafted and tasted amazing! Nice vibe for brunch! Coming back for dinner.

Was working DreamHack at Kay Bailey Hutchinson Covention Center, stopped in for lunch. The chips and salsa was AMAZING. I wasn’t that hungry so I ordered the kids Chimichanga, came with rice and beans. Everything tasted good, service was good, not too busy.

Trisha (mgr) took good care of us, very attentive and friendly.

I will be back.

Considering it’s next to the convention center, We were really pleased with our meal. Great, authentic flavors, yummy chips and salsa for the table, and attentive staff. The corn tortillas are homemade and a must-eat!

For a restaurant operated by a hotel, I am very impressed! Before I could even walk in the service was phenomenal, they opened the door for me and immediately were ready to seat me and even allowed me to choose a preferred table location in the dining room. The dining room had lots of natural light and a nice bright aesthetic. My server, Nina was excellent through the meal and had a perfect understanding of when to and when not to be there. Both the complementary water glass and my other beverage were refilled without needing to ask. The menu has a wide range of offerings, I decided to go for the queso as an appetizer and ordered some fajitas as my main. The queso was great, it complemented the chips perfectly and the addition of the fresh pico on top added a new flavor dynamic I did not know queso was capable of. The chips seemed to be house made and were pretty good, the tajin seasoning was an interesting choice, but overall strong appetizer. They gave enough time to enjoy the appetizer before the entree came out. Fajitas were delicious, everything was fresh and the quality was on point for Omni. I felt it was a good portion size for one person and not too much which is a plus, the price of around $17 is also pretty cheap given it is closer to $20 in most restaurants now, I found it somewhat surprising being located at a very upmarket hotel, but it’s nice to have some options which are both good and affordable in the Dallas area. Overall I had a wonderful lunch experience and I look forward to returning, maybe with some extra diners next time around!

I had the cochinita pibil and really enjoyed it, tender, flavorful, and well-seasoned. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was great. Definitely a spot I’d come back to when I’m craving good Mexican food in Dallas.

Somewhat disappointed after reading so many positive reviews. I’ve had way better tex-mex. The enchiladas plate I received was like a premade dinner barely lukewarm. Wasn’t very tasty and not what I would consider flavorful.. Salsa with the chips was mild and they don’t have anything else if you want something spicy. Bar service was friendly and nice. Drinks were decent. Solid pass for me if I wasn’t staying at the Omni.

I can see why they’re only open on the weekends and I should’ve trusted the bad reviews!!

Unfortunately was the only tex-mex/Mexican food we could find nearby. My tacos had a CRUMB of cheese on them. Ridiculous!

My fiancé ordered the “queso de queso” from the menu and it was literally a cheesy roll up from Taco Bell with cheese dip on top for a ridiculous amount of $$$.

Service also sucked, only one server on a Saturday night was weird, everyone seemed to have issues with their orders, and our server passed us several times over the course of 15 minutes but never stopped to check in or bring a refill until we were done eating.
