We stopped at this establishment on Byers Rd this morning
Wow!! What a lovely place
We decided to have a breakfast and we were certainly not disappointed – it beat me !
2 Bacon, 2 eggs, mushrooms, 2 sausage, beans, 2 toast, 2 black pudding! Excellent
I’m fussy about most of all those ingredients. However the quality of the ingredients were excellent and well cooked
We enjoyed freshly made coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice – both flavoursome and tasty
Thank you chef
We didn’t try anything from the dessert – pastry counter but it look very inciting- NEXT time!
The waitress was very kind and friendly thank you
The establishment is quaint, inviting and relaxing. Music playing but certainly not intrusive.
We sat at one of the banquettes. Very ‘old school’ and comfortable, tables and chairs are also available.
The toilet facilities are clean and can accommodate wheel chair users
Also baby changing facilities can be found in the ladies toilet.
What a great way to start a challenging day ahead !
Certainly put us both in a positive frame of mind – ready to take life on !
Well done – gold stars all round
However when I arrived the waitress said we could only have the table for an hour as it was booked. After 30 mins our food had not arrived but another table became free.So I went up to the waitress and said would it helped if we moved to the empty table…in my mind I thought I was helping ie taking pressure off staff trying to cook food and get us out as the table was booked.I was told we couldn’t move to the other table as it was needed for people with wheelchairs and prams.Understandable i accepted that and sat down .Yet a few minutes later a young couple with no pram and no wheelchair were sat at the other table. When the waitress came to deliver our food I said I found this all confusing. It was then that I was told each table ONLY gets 1 hour.So the moral of that story is beautiful surroundings, tasty food …but eat quick ..you may only have 20 mins to eat .One step away from factory feeding it’s a bit like your on a very quick conveyor belt.I like to have a chat with my meal most places give you more than an hour even on byres road.PS I was there on a Thursday afternoon after 1.My friend had travelled an hour to get there a bit sad overall
Would recommend picking from the lunch menu, fresh and homemade!
Loved the fact that I could take my dog hunter in which the staff gave some him some scrumptious treats!
Definitely return! Thank you all
What I would heavily reccomend however is to include more gluten free options as I didn’t see much options on the menu and desert wise I only noticed macroons. Other than that, the visit to this cafe was lovely and I’ll certainly be back.
We decided to stay, which was a mistake as we were eventually served two overheated and tasteless coffees. The teaspoon on the saucer had a pool of water sitting in it – indicative of a general “don’t care” attitude from the staff, each one of which looked more miserable than the last.
The scones also came toasted and crispy, rather than heated, and without cream as they advertise on the menu.
All very poor. I’d never go back.
