What a GEM we found ! Wonderful

We stopped at this establishment on Byers Rd this morning
Wow!! What a lovely place

We decided to have a breakfast and we were certainly not disappointed – it beat me !

2 Bacon, 2 eggs, mushrooms, 2 sausage, beans, 2 toast, 2 black pudding! Excellent

I’m fussy about most of all those ingredients. However the quality of the ingredients were excellent and well cooked
We enjoyed freshly made coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice – both flavoursome and tasty
Thank you chef

We didn’t try anything from the dessert – pastry counter but it look very inciting- NEXT time!

The waitress was very kind and friendly thank you

The establishment is quaint, inviting and relaxing. Music playing but certainly not intrusive.

We sat at one of the banquettes. Very ‘old school’ and comfortable, tables and chairs are also available.

The toilet facilities are clean and can accommodate wheel chair users
Also baby changing facilities can be found in the ladies toilet.

What a great way to start a challenging day ahead !
Certainly put us both in a positive frame of mind – ready to take life on !

Well done – gold stars all round

This is a strange I can’t fault the place for food ..delicious, the waitress who served us could not be better .
However when I arrived the waitress said we could only have the table for an hour as it was booked. After 30 mins our food had not arrived but another table became free.So I went up to the waitress and said would it helped if we moved to the empty table…in my mind I thought I was helping ie taking pressure off staff trying to cook food and get us out as the table was booked.I was told we couldn’t move to the other table as it was needed for people with wheelchairs and prams.Understandable i accepted that and sat down .Yet a few minutes later a young couple with no pram and no wheelchair were sat at the other table. When the waitress came to deliver our food I said I found this all confusing. It was then that I was told each table ONLY gets 1 hour.So the moral of that story is beautiful surroundings, tasty food …but eat quick ..you may only have 20 mins to eat .One step away from factory feeding it’s a bit like your on a very quick conveyor belt.I like to have a chat with my meal most places give you more than an hour even on byres road.PS I was there on a Thursday afternoon after 1.My friend had travelled an hour to get there a bit sad overall

Lovely cafe, nice waiting staff. Coffees came out and the saucers were clearly dirty. Should have paid attention to this red flag as the condiment served alongside our breakfast had green mould growing on it. Thankfully didn’t eat anything. Sent the food back and they still expected payment for the coffees. When I questioned this the waiting staff member did offer to void our bill but i got the impression she had been told to charge. So rather than cause her any issues I paid and we left. I’ll never return. Such a shame as their cakes looked amazing.

Little gem!! Lovely cafe, the homemade cakes are amazing. Very busy however I found the staff to be very attentive and friendly!
Would recommend picking from the lunch menu, fresh and homemade!

Loved the fact that I could take my dog hunter in which the staff gave some him some scrumptious treats!

Definitely return! Thank you all

Charming spot with a classic French café vibe and a team that actually delivers on service. The pastries are the headline act—fresh, not overly sweet, and worth the detour. If you’re planning to sit down, aim for off-peak hours; the space fills quickly and tables turn slower than you’d expect. Great for a quick coffee, a light bite, or a quiet reset in the middle of the day. Reliable, cosy, and a strong local pick when you want something with a bit more character than the usual chains.

Visited this cafe not long ago and its safe to say that I’m pleased with my visit. The cafe was quite busy on the day that I went but that didn’t stop the service or the food from being an absolute delight, the cafe offers a breakfast and a lunch menu which honestly is perfect. They offer a large variety of foods (savoury and sweet) and drinks. What intrigued me the most was the cakes, the display had so many to pick from and if I had an unlimited budget I would’ve asked for a slice of every cake! The service was lovely and the atmosphere of the cafe is gorgeous, the first thing that caught my eye was that kind of vintage French aesthetic that just envelopes you as you walk in giving you that authentic French feeling to it.

What I would heavily reccomend however is to include more gluten free options as I didn’t see much options on the menu and desert wise I only noticed macroons. Other than that, the visit to this cafe was lovely and I’ll certainly be back.

Awesome place! Food, drink, service! Popped up with my cat coming from his vet appointment and he was attended with the same friendliness as me. If not better (no jealousy there coz I love him)! Highly recommended!

Sadly not impressed with our visit. The cake was dry, whatever is listed as ice cream is more like shaved ice, and my tarte tatin had a weird taste to it. The coffee was good. No one was around to ask for our bill or clear the table. The window seat and booths are a nice aesthetic but the tables in the middle are a little lack luster. Pretty expensive for two drinks and two desserts £22.

I have rarely experienced such incompetent service. I witnessed the occupants of a nearby table and two other customers leave after being left to wait without so much as a greeting.

We decided to stay, which was a mistake as we were eventually served two overheated and tasteless coffees. The teaspoon on the saucer had a pool of water sitting in it – indicative of a general “don’t care” attitude from the staff, each one of which looked more miserable than the last.

The scones also came toasted and crispy, rather than heated, and without cream as they advertise on the menu.

All very poor. I’d never go back.
