The food was amazing! I enjoyed every single bite of what I ordered however the service was a bit of a let down. It was fairly busy and the waiters just weren’t paying enough attention. The croissant on the menu is said to come with butter but mine came without butter. I raised it with them and they said the waiter probably forgot and proceeded to serve others croissant’s with butter. We also had to ask for our bill three times before it came. Overall the atmosphere is nice and the food was great but the service could be better.

This is a favourite because of the half priced oyster special every afternoon. During this period 12 oysters are R216. Excellent value
Menu is small. We mostly stick to the oysters & the baked Camembert.
They offer a harvest table charged by weight, I can’t comment on quality as I have never partaken.
Pricing is fair. A glass of bubbles is R100
Winelist is very limited.
Cafe feel is Parisian sidewalk. Indoor outdoor seating. Wicker furnishing

Gilbert was the best waiter anyone could ask for. Besides his friendly and helpful service while we were there, he and the rest of the friendly staff went out of their way to ensure that my phone was kept safe after I had accidently left it there, just before they closed. I retrieved it the next morning, and everyone at the restaurant helped me with a smile on their faces. I have never actually done the effort to write a review of a place before, but this restaurant deserves all the love and support.

If you looking for quick bite or coffee to sip, this is Stylish and above many restaurants when considering their size overall. Comfy sitting and just the right music and volume, elegant servers and presentation. They sure do go the mile, it was my first visit will return again. Downside is limited seating, tables tightly spaced. Not for proper dinning or a place where expect good space.

Would highly recommend to grab a bite and brekkie. The service was very quick and so was the food to arrive. The place is quite small and if you’re sitting inside you don’t get the feeling of sitting and chatting for ages, but the outside seating is very nice. The food was incredible! I suggest going before 11 so you can get the breakfast menu.

This is a beautiful relaxed Cafe tucked away on Kildare Road in Newlands.
Their coffees are delicious and their breakfast was fresh and tasty. The service is attentive and the entire vibe of the Cafe is bistro chic.
Sitting on the outside terrace under the bright yellow umbrellas helps to soak up the chilled Saturday vibes in Newlands. Will be back definitely.
