Upon entering Cafe Delicias, I was immediately struck by the vintage-style sign on Amador Street, a clear indicator of its long-standing presence in Las Cruces. A banner advertised Chile en Nogadas, a dish I typically avoid due to a previous negative experience at another restaurant. Inside, Cafe Delicias was bustling with locals and families, and a football game played on a large-screen TV.
I was promptly seated and ordered the combination plate with green chile and a small bowl of menudo. Chips and flavorful salsa arrived quickly, followed shortly by the main meal. The tortillas appeared store-bought, and the beans tasted canned. I was surprised that the menudo didn’t come with a side of fresh chopped white onion and had to request it from the waitress. Overall, the meal was unremarkable, especially when compared to the quality of other Mexican restaurants in the area. I would describe the food and ambiance of Cafe Delicias as average.

I love the atmosphere and decor! At first I thought prices were a bit high. Then our server brought out a delicious soup before our meal. It was so good and filling I probably could of skipped the main plate. My flauta plate was ok. I will definitely be back to try other menu items.

This place is legit! From the moment you walk in, you know you’re in for a treat. I started with the pozole, and with the first spoonful, I was instantly transported back to my childhood. It was so incredibly good, it genuinely reminded me of my abuela’s cooking – a true taste of authentic tradition.
Next up was the menudo, and I can confidently say it’s the best I’ve ever had. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the ingredients were perfectly cooked. But then came the main event: the barbacoa. Oh, the barbacoa! It was absolutely amazing. The meat was tender, succulent, and bursting with authentic flavor. It was so delicious, I seriously considered asking the chef for their number just to get the recipe or perhaps a private catering session! Seriously, five stars isn’t enough to capture the culinary excellence experienced here. This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving truly authentic Mexican cuisine.

Awful service. Food has no flavor. Bread tasted like it was expired, beans tasted sour like when they are about to spoil. The waitress we had was mad at our request for refills and just mad to be our server she had an attitude. Never trying again! Food looks good but it does not taste good. No wonder it’s never full. We left all the food on the plates not even to take home leftovers. Do not recommend!

They have very extensive menu and their food is good BUT if you order the beef STEW, it is NOT stew. It is SOUP. big difference. and my soup had chunks of beef but over half was fat, not lean meat. so their soup could use an improvement! for $13 a bowl it should be better than that. their servers are excellent.

I had an amazing experience at Delicias Cafe! The service was phenomenal—attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. The food was out of this world, especially if you’re a fan of authentic Mexican cuisine. Every dish was bursting with flavor, and you can really taste the quality in every bite. One of the best places to eat in Las Cruces hands down! If you want some good chips and salsa, a refreshing drink, and very delicious food, this is the place to go! The staff are friendly, fast service, and clean. So many options! You won’t be disappointed coming here. Most of the entres also come with caldo soup, or you can choose one of their other delicious soups. The portions are generous. Prices comparable to other places around town.
