Worst service in town. First we saw a menu that looked gopd, went up to the rooftop terrace, only to hear that they have a different menu up there. We didnt like the options so went bacl down. The ground floor is not very nice compared to the rooftop. The service was bad, the bill was wrong. We got a handwritten bill with different figures than on the menu. Very rude and impolite. Would not recommend going here.

It’s impossible to miss sitting like a grand old observer over Jemaa el Fna, watching the madness unfold below. Snake charmers, orange juice sellers, smoke from food stalls curling into the night air. Café de France has seen it all.
You don’t come here for the food it’s fine, maybe even forgettable. The coffee’s decent. The service is whatever the wind decides that day. But none of that matters. You come here for the view, for the ritual of sitting still while the city unravels in front of you. As the sun sinks behind the Mosque, the square glows like fire. Drums start, smoke thickens, the air turns electric. From your perch on the terrace, you’re part of it, yet apart watching a thousand small stories play out at once. There’s a kind of poetry in that. The old waiters shuffling between tables, the clang of teacups, the endless rhythm of Marrakech life below. Café de France isn’t about what’s on the plate it’s about being there, suspended between chaos and calm, mint tea in hand, watching the world burn orange and fade into night.

Food: Had to get the omelette fromage (cheese) off the bill because I cant believe they would serve it with large dust particles on the food and hair. My pain au chocolat only had a lick or smudge of chocolate in it. When I brought the issue to the server he implied this is what I ordered. Service: when eventually served, the server is working on his own on about 3 floors. To justify the lack of chcolate in the pain au chocolat was a nono. The only good thing in the whole experience was the view of the market square and the tasty coffee creme I had.

At the time I was, it was fast and pleasant, I went around 16 just for the mind tea, and I asked how much before, they say the price plus 50 cent, for service charge In which I said I only has money for the mint tea. So I just have paid that. The view is nice

Fantastic view over the square. Food average at best. Tajine was cold. Service is good and waiters friendly. Prices a bit higher than other places around, but it is ok to pay for the view.

Very disappointing experience at Smitha Cafe, French Quarter – Marrakech.
The service was extremely poor and unprofessional. The staff seemed careless, slow, and uninterested in customers. There was no sense of hospitality or respect, which is unacceptable for a café in such a touristic area. Definitely not worth the time or money. I would not recommend this place.

Oooohhhh the potential of this place. We had drinks and pizza here on the roof terrace. I really hope someone buys this place and turns it into the gem it can be. The oldness of the building isn’t a problem it’s the lack of hygiene. The oldness has so much charm. The menu, the tablecloth, the salt and pepper shaker and the chairs were dirty. I mean sticky with dirt. It takes so little to just clean stuff but its sad to see that its not their priority. The staff was very friendly. When it started raining they immediately got every table a parasol. We ordered pizza because we were hungry and a lot of the places were full at the time. But I definitely didn’t order anything else and I would only come back for a drink. Nothing else. I thought what can go wrong with a pizza. It was a simple pizza made the Moroccan way. And it was okay. They had the audacity to charge money for the use of the toilet even if you just had drinks and food inside. The minimum is 20 dirham which amounts to €2,-. They don’t even charge that amount at a gas station in Europe. The toilet you get is old, dirty and there isn’t any soap to wash your hands with nor any towel to dry your hands. What you do get is an old man sitting near the door of the entrance of the toilet demanding each payment. This place must have been great in the old days. I really hope someone restores it one day. They can start with hygiene and the toilets! Oh the potential of this place!!

The place is run down. The food is really really disappointing. We took two specialties (tajine and cousouc) that should not be difficult to prep and they were inedible. We left our dishes almost full. The service is welcoming at the door but once you are seated the waiter is uneasent or overworked… inly the position if their terrase helps them survive.

It was the worst meal during my WHOLE time in Morocco. Overpriced. Terrible food. Super dirty. I was disgusted to put my jacket on the chair. Mint tea was just some dirty warm water with old mint leaves in a tiny glass. Service was awful. We were waiting to get attention from the waiter forever. The waiter took the money when we paid and never brought back change (10 Euros). They just didn’t come back. Rude and disrespectful. I would probably leave some tip anyway but just take money and disappear – that’s unacceptable. Plus during our dinner we were taking some photos from terrace, waiter came and told us rudely that we can’t take pictures (no sign about that anywhere). On top of all of that we couldn’t pay with our card, just cash. Which we knew at the very end of our evening there. Avoid this place.

Best view in Marrakech (one of the tallest terraces within the Medina)…. view of the entire old town and Atlas Mountains too. Fortunately plenty of space on the terrace as we went in March… didn’t try the food but the mint tea and coffee were sublime.. 100% recommend even just for the views!
