The atmosphere was fantastic! The food was excellent and the staff were phenomenal. We ordered from the summer menu, and it will be our go-to dining spot.

So, not going to lie…. I originally came to town to eat at the Silk Road Cafe a few doors down for some amazing Korean. But they were closed for some reason. So, I made my way here as a good back up. Place was quite busy. Had to wait on getting a table and it was not a holiday weekend or anything. Manager (or owner?) was very friendly and took our name for a list and got busy looking for vacancies. I ordered the meatloaf, and my friend ordered a salad, but I can’t remember which one. I also tried the Broccoli Cheese soup. Everything we got was very good, and all worth getting again if we couldn’t decide on trying something new next time. Service was good even though they were busy. There was a gal that made rounds just to keep water glasses full, in case your waiter/waitress was busy. Friendly atmosphere. This place is like a combination of a mom and pop small town cafe, yet with the classy feel and service of a newer modern style bar and grill. Would recommend anyone try this place, although I still have to give a shout out to Silk Road (which I’ve also reviewed) as well. Try them both!!

Mother, daughter, and granddaughter went for 11:30 lunch on a Wednesday. The place was maybe at half capacity and we were seated immediately. The gentleman that served us was good humored, very kind, and attentive. Lots of great choices on the menu. Our food was delicious. I look forward to returning to try something new!

Great atmosphere filled with Paris inspiration mood lighting, loved the mashed potatoes they were to die for so creamy I would come back again. The sandwich I did not enjoy as much, but the pasta was delightful. The creme brulee was baked to perfection. Over priced for some items.

The food is great! But the mean girl was hella rude to me through the phone, I should’ve catch her name tag but I wasn’t looking I just came in there to pick up my food, I would never give her tip for her mistreating me through the phone, when I called at 5:48pm and again this unprofessionally little girl was giving me a mean girl attitude through the phone, “mean girl” attitude over the phone while ordering.

When you come to Vermillion, beautiful little town conveniently sandwiched between the bustling megapolises of Sioux Falls and Sioux City, and you want a good meal, Café Brulé is an excellent choice! I visit Vermillion several times a year, and always make a point of eating here. My sister and I split an order of Korean BBQ ribs, enough for two, if you’re not feeling greedy. She ordered raspberry cheesecake for dessert: amazing. Great entres, great desserts, wine, beer… not sure about cocktails. Try it, you’ll like it!

Absolutely incredible! We were in town for the weekend and so glad that we stumbled on this place. We ate supper one night and went back for breakfast the next day! The supper was delicious and I was so impressed with the menu options. We had the chicken pasta and it was “chef’s kiss”. It seems very popular at breakfast time and was very good, but supper was outstanding

Lovely place and people, but the food was very lack luster. It appeared like a lot of old timer food selections. The two entres I tried didn’t have a ton of flavor. The atmosphere was great, like the vibe, just not my kinda food.

Normally this place rocks but, a lunch with friend this January (2026) went bad. Ordered the chicken apple panini, I have had great ones in the past, but this one was pathetic. To call it a grilled cheese with added overcooked chicken chunks and very little apple would be a reach toward the good. If this is the new standard take it off the menu. 13 bucks for that waste.
