Cafe Athens is Northern Colorado’s casual, yet classy, Greek restaurant. With two convenient locations (Front Range Shopping Center & the Promenade Shops at Centerra), Cafe Athens provides Fort Collins and Loveland residents with a delicious mix of American, Greek, and Mediterranean cuisine. Cafe Athens is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner and serves a variety traditional Greek dishes like mousaka, souvlaki, falafel, dolmathes, baklava, gyros (a local favorite), and Greek-style salads and pizza. For those unfamiliar with Greek cuisine or unsure of what to try, Cafe Athens offers a Combo Platter in addition to their other platters of broiled lean gyros meat, baked chicken, eggplant, spinach pie, and more.

My husband and I were looking for something yummy to eat before our appointments in the area, but we arrived closer to our appointment times than expected. We decided to risk it, and are so glad we did! Within 30 minutes we had been seated, served absolutely delicious food and drinks, had our food in to-go boxes and the check in front of us, which almost no intervention on our part. The space was also decorated nicely and had lots of natural light.
I got the “gyro quesadilla”, which was a refreshing spin on traditional Greek food in America and a huge bonus if you’re one of those people, like me, who dislike getting their hands all goopy while eating. Great spot!

I ordered the Souvlaki Gyro, it was a generous portion of moist and delicious, lamb meatballs in a warm, perfect pita. It was smothered in tzatziki and with sliced tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers, and lettuce. Get plenty of napkins and enjoy the sandwich. The meal comes with the gyro, a side, and a drink. Cafe Athens has 10 different Gyro sandwiches that include the lamb, beef, chicken, falafel and a vegetarian option. You also have a choice of several sauces that include Tzatziki Sauce , Spicy BBQ, or
Gyros Hot & Spicy with Jalapenos and Tabasco. The sides includes the option of french fries, wedge potatoes, spinach rice, pasta orzo, pasta salad, mixed veggies, or a greek side salad. I ordered the pasta salad which was a rotini pasta with sliced black olives and feta cheese. I don’t love olives, but the feta was delicious. The orzo pasta is kind of a soup and my husband said it was really good. My niece ordered a chicken platter and it looked like half of a chicken, shredded with pita, lettuce, and feta cheese. The service was good and prices were reasonable for the portion size. If you like Greek food, try Cafe Athens. They have a couple of locations in Northern Colorado. My sister placed their order online and it was ready when they arrived. We ordered at the counter and service was pretty quick.

The food here is absolutely incredible and the service is always extremely fast and friendly. The food here is some of the best in town, everything is AMAZING! I can’t help but get the gyro meal every time. Not to mention, they have the actual best French fries in town, and that’s a fact. Wowowowowow I can’t get enough. 10/10

Their food is decent but I really hope their kitchen is much cleaner than their restroom. It was extremely dusty and quite overdue for a cleaning. And as others mentioned, it is very echoey in there. $4.95 for a drink is quite high. Will be hesitant to go again.

This is my second time of experiencing the food at is restaurant. I must say, aside from the echo/elevated volume of surrounding sounds, I love this place!!!
The food is astounding! Great bang for your buck, delicious food, and great service.
All the food tantalizing your taste buds. The orzo was mouthwatering and kept me wanting more. Pasta salad was fresh and just right. Absolutely love the Gyro platter! You can’t go wrong with it. Everything was fresh and crisp.

We had been looking for a new Greek restaurant as the one we used to go to closed. This had excellent gyros and the salad was also really good. Also got some kabobs and the meat was delicious. Will be back again!!

Amazing delicious food! My favorite place to eat and especially for my birthday lunch! I love the lamb gyro with the Greek salad! The extra taziki sauce is a must and the Greek coffee just bring me joy! Highly recommended!

If you want fast, pleasantly served Greek food, then this is the way to go. I feel like they have sacrificed quality for speed. The food was okay, not the best Greek I’ve ever had, but it was very mass-produced feeling. It’ll do in a pinch if you’re hungry for Greek food.

Food was good and the portions were huge. Service was fast and the waiter checked on us and refilled water multiple times. Place was a bit noisy but guess that’s expected in the evening time. Their platter sizes are huge, so suggest splitting.
