Been coming here for years. I live close by and have gone at least twice a month for the past 6 years. It was my favorite breakfast spot. Great patio and classic bar which I love to sit. That being said, it’s time for me to take a break. The past three times I’ve gone I’ve been absolutely let down. I always got the classic benedict. The past year or so I’ve noticed a major decrease in the amount of hollandaise sauce they use. I’m not asking for it to be swimming in sauce, but it needs more than a tablespoon of sauce. I know it sounds petty, but it’s a ratio thing. It matters. Imagine a pb and J with a light spread of jam. I always have to ask for an extra side, but that’s not what this review is about. This is about the best thing they make. The hash browns. The past three times I’ve gone I’ve noticed the has browns get smaller and smaller. Today was the last straw. Today I received a sliver of hash browns. It was not even an inch across. Increase the cost. I don’t care. This is not the Plaza Cafe I’ve supported and loved for years. I live closer to the Knick, and honestly, I’m taking a long break from Plaza Cafe.

Tremendous breakfast that included lattes (I recommend the cinnamon!) biscuits and gravy and the Plaza Benedict. We’d recommend the biscuits and gravy.

Came here for Sunday brunch. We had a reservation, which was very useful because the place was packed. We were seated within 5 minutes.

Two of the people in our party had Eggs Benedict. I had scrambled eggs with bacon. And the fourth person in our group had poppy seed pancakes. Everything was super delicious.

Service was outstanding. I highly recommend if you want an above average dining experience.

A touch of elegance and old school. Love the old school counter seating wrapped around the open kitchen. The dining room is elegant and charming. The hash browns are a signature and definitely worth the hype. The patty melt was on point with the perfect amount of cheese and caramelized onions. Service was impeccable.

The food is excellent and the atmosphere is very pleasant. However, the restaurant is not adapted for people with disabilities. Other than that, everything was outstanding.

An honest review—the food did not change my life. It was fine, not fantastic. BUT the courtyard is this beautiful little escape in the middle of Milwaukee that I’ll go back for and our server was amazing and funny and engaging and helpful. This is what made the experience great!

Old fashioned breakfast and brunch spot with a nice menu selection. You can even watch the cook making your food. The aroma of the hash browns an scrambled eggs were tantalizing. Would prefer more booth seating as most seating arrangements are free standing tables.

I think Café at the Plaza has to be one of my all time favorite, if not favorite breakfast places in the city. Whether you’re sitting at their art deco diner counter, watching your food get prepared right in front of you or dining in their towering ivy courtyard, there’s just something special about this place. Situated in an old, art deco style hotel, Café at the Plaza’s food is always fresh and tasty, they have diner staples like pancakes, omelettes, eggs benedict oh and out of this world hash browns.

But don’t take my word for it, come and try this place yourself!

In A Nutshell:

-This restaurant inside The Plaza Hotel is really good.
-I like the retro vibe, the rounded countertop where you can watch your being cooked in the very open kitchen.
-The service is pretty friendly & good too.
-I stopped by for a breakfast, which was super delicious.
-The portions were very generous of eggs, sausage patties & hash browns w/ toast.
-I also ordered a mushroom burger for lunch which mouth-watering good on top of a bed of thin crispy fries.

Overall, I would recommend grabbing a meal or two here if you are staying here as it’s convenient & also very good.
