Truely a hidden gem, Im so glad I stopped by to give them a try. Prices are GREAT, big portions and everything tasted so good. Very friendly staff made us feel at home. Cant stress enough how good our meal was.

Outstanding “hole in the wall” restaurant!! We felt like we were at a family member’s house for lunch. If we lived closer (from Killen), we would probably eat here multiple times a week. All staff were incredibly courteous, but our waitress was on another level. She made sure we had everything we needed and provided everything we asked for in the friendliest manner possible. Then there’s the food… I haven’t had a bacon cheeseburger this good in YEARS and my wife’s hamburger steak with home fries was simply perfect. We are folks that eat out weekly at various places and Café 72 over delivered. I HIGHLY recommend eating here if you are privileged enough to be in the area. We can’t wait to go back! Thank you Café 72 for lunch today!!!

Came here for lunch with my parents on Tuesday. Comfy spot with simple but tasty meals.
This definitely feels like a local spot — lots of workmen and people who seemed to know the waitstaff. Menu consists of classic American fare, like burgers, patty melts, and chicken tenders. Fries, onion rings, and tater tots for your sides! They also offer daily lunch specials; on Tuesday it was spaghetti and garlic bread, but other days have plate lunches like country fried steak. This appears to be a pretty popular deal — lots of spaghetti coming out of the kitchen!
Our waitress proudly explained how they hand patty the burgers and hand bread the tenders, and how the salads are made with freshly pulled lettuce. She also told us she’d worked there a long time. Love a place that retains employees! Says a lot. Our waitress did a good job, too.
My parents both ordered a hamburger and split an order of onion rings. I was gonna go in on a burger but couldn’t resist when I heard the tenders were hand-breaded. So I had chicken tenders with fries.
The burgers were great! Parents said they reminded them of old-fashioned diner burgers. My tenders were also good: crispy breading and all white meat. The onion rings were crunchy and the fries were crinkle cut and of ample portions.
My complaints are generally small, but for what they are: wish the tenders, fries, and rings had been a little saltier, and I wish the ranch for dipping was a little thicker and less herby (kinda tasted like salad dressing ranch rather than buttermilk). Still, minor in the grand scheme of things!

Looking for a place for dinner when we were in Athens for the night. Reviews looked good so we decided to try it. We are so glad we did!! The people were efficient and extremely friendly- we met the original owner and she was a wonderful lady. Our waitress checked on us often to see how everything was and if anything else was needed.
The food was outstanding, we had burgers that were some of the best we’ve had and the onion rings were homemade and delicious. Also the prices are very reasonable.
We pass through here a twice a year and we will definitely eat here again.

My best friend and I ate lunch there today. We hadn’t eaten there before, but saw it on Facebook. Well, let me tell you. BEST EVER!!
Food was EXCELLENT. The mashed potatoes were from scratch. None of that instant stuff. My friend had the Monday special and I had a grilled chicken sandwich with onion rings. We are definitely going back. I think my daughter and I will go there, tomorrow for breakfast. Yes, tomorrow. It was that good!!!!

This place is hands down amazing. Staff is so friendly and everything is fresh and hott. Everything is made fresh daily even the burgers. This is definitely a comeback to restaurant.
