Had a group of 11 for supper tonight and our waitress (sorry, didn’t catch her name) was awesome. She was very friendly, gave great suggestions on food and was prompt with getting all our drinks and food to us. Food pictured is shrimp tacos, cactus tacos, chimichanga and chicken quesadilla. All tasted really good!

We happened to stumble on Cactus, one day, driving home from Denver. We wanted Mexican food and so we tried Cactus. This was about 1.5 years ago and we continue to go back time and time, again. Their frozen margaritas are top notch and we have been looking for the ones they serve since moving up to Northern Colorado. They’re the consistency of a 7-Eleven Slurpee.
Moreover, the main reason we continue to go is because of Gina, the bartender and server there. She is our ABSOLUTE favorite person! She-genuinely- makes our experience so much better! What she means to us, and how she is to us, is the reason we continue to go back. Food can improve, drinks can improve, over time. What remains timeless is relationships built with people whom you can connect with in everyday situations. Gina is that person. We just love and adore her and continue to return to Cactus to see her!!
Oh, and Xavier is awesome, too!

Nathan behind the bar is awesome! The seasonal menus are great. I recommend whatever the latest nacho dish is. The one with the bottle cap jalapenos is my favorite! I also love the shrimp.

Beautiful spot. I’ll give them that. And conveniently placed between other stores and bars that don’t serve food. The food was cooked to perfection at least. But literally ZERO flavor. Seriously it tasted like water and the oil it was cooked in. Maybe some of the ingredients like onion. We were surprised at how flavorless the food was for a Mexican restaurant. Actually the only thing that had salt was the fries. Shockingly. What made the service not so good was how we barely saw our server and they gave us the wrong bill. Our bill of only a few items came up to over $100! We didn’t even have drinks. I was uneasy about what was owed so after my husband paid in cash I asked for the receipt. And sure enough it was not our bill it was the table next to us.
SO SO glad I asked for the receipt. Not sure why one wasn’t given to us in the first place? Who takes money without even confirming the order?
Make sure you ask for the check every time. And again so happy we paid in cash so we got our money and our actual amount owed was 40 something. Oh well.

Went out with my coworkers for my birthday and had such a lovely time! The staff was so flexible because we were originally a party of 6 and added 3 more to our table . We enjoyed the food and the drinks. I got combo 4 I believe which had a shrimp tostada and a fish taco with a side of beans. I also ordered a marg and that was fun. Here are some pictures of what we got!

We were in on 11-15- 25. My wife really liked her meal. My burger was not good. It was dry and lacking toppings. It was overcooked. Scott, our server made it right and fixed the problem. We will be back to see if the kitchen staff figures out the burgers. Thanks, Scott!

Was disappointed in our meal about a week ago. We ordered appetizers and drinks. The shrimp were rubbery and drenched in sauce. My nachos were so soggy, they had to be eaten with a fork. Which kinda defeats the concept.
This is not the first experience like this. Unfortunately we probably won’t go back. We live the location and atmosphere otherwise.

When we’re busy at home and want to support local businesses we will order out for delivery. Cactus Grill shows that they prefer orders directly through their website. We support that. When you order directly from their website site, they use Door Dash to deliver. We have ever yet to receive our order or correct food. Try to contact the delivery person via the number supplied and surprise, no answer and a voicemail not set up. Call Cactus Grill and there is no way to communicate to an actual person. An automated voice only tries to direct you to their web site which (go back to the start of this) is where place your order to get taken for your money and not the food you paid for.

I didn’t even get a chance to try the food. We were standing at the host counter, getting ready to be seated when one of the employees needed to get by. Instead of simply saying excuse me, she very rudely said something along the lines of, you need to stay out of the walkway. I’ve never been there before this and had no idea I was standing in any walkway. Why is the host stand at the back of the restaurant in front of the door to the kitchen? We left, I won’t be treated like that!

Lovely morning sitting outside for breakfast at Cactus Grille with The Egg Kings. Enjoyed a pineapple mimosa, and good cup of coffee. The Denver skillet was fresh with bits of ham, onion, green pepper and fresh tomato. The biscuits and gravy skillet with scrambled eggs was yummy. Both came with small diced homemade potatoes perfectly fried and seasoned. Nice menu selection with several options but not too many. Will definitely be back!
