There were many reasons why I would highly recommend this particular Cactus Flower West Cafè location:
1) Great price
I was already overwhelmed with the task of finding a good Tex-Mex restaurant at a decent price. After calling a few restaurants, I was defeated because either the food was good, but it was super expensive or vice versa. However, when I contacted this particular location, I was connected with their cater manager, Shawn. He was so friendly, flexible, and willing to go over every detail and recommended options that met my needs. I had a party of 40 people, but I ordered food for 80 people since we wanted to make sure there was plenty of food – plus take home plates for our guests.
Shawn recommended a catering package called “The Works” which included the following:
120 tacos
60 were beef tacos
60 were chicken tacos
80 enchiladas
40 were beef enchiladas
40 were chicken enchiladas
chips and salsa
sweet and unsweetened tea
Ooey gooey cake (cake brownie – simply divine!)
warmers and racks
serving utensils, plates, napkins, and silverware packets
Plus delivery and set up at Johnson Beach (Perdido area)!
All of this cost me less than $900
2) Excellent Service and Flexibility
I cannot explain enough how flexible Shawn was willing to work with every request I had. We ended up changing from the Johnson Beach location to the actual restaurant and Shawn was immediately willing to accomodate. I flooded his phone with several questions and he responded immediately and with photos of the restaurant. We asked if decorations and music were okay, he said yes. We even set up for children to beat a pinata and he was okay with it.We also set up a dessert bar and Shawn let us do it!
3) Food selection and quality is very good!
So many of our guests and relatives were impressed with this particular location’s food! I will be posting the pictures of what we set up and even pictures won’t justify how tasty the food was. I was nervous that it wouldn’t be enough – but the food is satisfying and flavorful!
Shawn, you will definitely be getting many referrals from me. We hold several parties for work and family… so be ready for more catering requests! THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY MOTHER’S SURPRISE 60th BIRTHDAY PARTY SO SPECIAL AND MEMORABLE! If you have any catering/party needs… ask for Shawn!

I’m not as gaga over it as the wife is, but it is very good food. The service has been top notch every time we’ve been there. The soups are awesome, and the Mucho Nachos is a very good value.

Kept seeing this advertised on social media. Gave it a try. It’s overhyped. The food looks great and had minimal grease. Meat to cheese ratio is a little uneven. Flavor is okay, but it’s generally more Californian than Mexican food.

I want to give it 4 stars because generally the food is great. I’ve been there quite a few times and can only remember maybe once that it hasn’t been at least 4* quality. The stars missing are for the service. It’s a 50/50 shot usually. If you are there during rush hours you’ll generally get good service. A few particular waiter/tresses are wonderful. If you’re there when it’s empty you’ll probably have lazy service. I.E. no refills until you request, same for chips (which are delicious), the worst being one time my waiter just never came so I was cared for by a different waitress entirely. Overall, if your service is good, it’ll be a great time. If it isnt, the food will be decent at least.

Food is always good, service as well. But today had an amazing server. If you go there ask for Angel. She’s personable from the moment she approaches your table to the point when you walk out the door. She consistently checked on us without hovering. She offered additional sauce without us asking just by talking to us and picking up on clues from our conversation. Everyone always complains about the bad service they get when they eat out no material the restaurant, few take the time to compliment the good service. They think a heftier tip says it all. Tips do help and go along way, but when you get that one server who does an exceptional job, take that moment to let their manager or the owners know. Thank you Angel for making my daughters and my lunch today relaxing and enjoyable.

We have eaten here many times and it seems that it is 50/50 that you will get a great experience. It all depends on the waiters. If they are ready for service, You will have a great experiance. If they are ready to go home then the quality will go down significantly. This is sad. Sometimes they are way understaffed and sometimes they are over staffed. I think that management should weed out the lazy and focus on the great employees that work for them, So that they can put the schedule together that makes the customer happy. Food is always good, so the cook staff is on point. But the wait staff could use some pointers.

Gave 2 stars because the chips and salsa was good! I had steak tacos and it was very dry. My husband’s enchilada’s was already cold when it got to the table. We tried to enjoy our meal but we were busy swatting bugs! We told our waitress and she just said, “Oh we didn’t have this problem today” 🙁

Really surprised that this place was as good as it Is! Having options like Black Beans and lime flavored White Rice was enjoyable. Really good Chicken Chimachanga and guacamole a treat. House Margarita was only 2.99…….I will definitely recommend to friends and family. Fresh keeps coming to mind!
