A random showing on my Instagram algorithm tipped me to this place and I have been curious about Venezuelan and Colombian cuisine so I made the trip to this location.

Off the bat, the exterior seems kinda plain but the inside the area is themed just like how it would be coming into a brick and mortar South American restaurant. Latin music, treats and snacks from their country. Service was swift, steady and courteous as it took no longer than 5 minutes for my food to reach my table.

My lunch for the day was the Grilled Chicken Pabellon Lunch Special, Chicken Empanada, Tequequava and Tamarind juice. When the pabellon got to my table I thought it was a little on the small side but it was surprisingly filling. The Grilled chicken, a bit on the salty side still had taste to it and it was a good mix to go with the rice and beans. I loved the texture of the Empanada I had and the Tequequava (Cheeze & Guava stick) was actually superb. Never thought Mozzarella cheese could mix well with Guava fruit, but it was a solid blend. The Tamarind juice was sweet and savory. That was quite a meal I’ve ordered yet came just under $30 so everything was reasonably priced.

The place is on a seemingly sketchy area of Cypress Hills but it’s worth a second visit because the food is good and the menu has a bevy of choices there.

I wanted to try something new and decided to go with this Venezuelan restaurant. First and foremost, I ordered delivery. I thoroughly enjoyed that they delivered it themselves, as opposed to a third party service. Secondly, I ordered two days in a row back to back.

In total with both days combined, I ordered Shredded Beef Pabellon, a 9″ Venezuelan Grilled Steak Sandwhich, a Dominican Chicken Empanada, a Dominican Beef Empanada, a YOYO sweet plantain sandwich with shredded beef, a sweet plantain sandwich with shredded chicken, and a tequeguava. I really wanted to immerse myself in the items they sold and the different flavors.

The Shredded Beef Pabellon came with white rice, black beans, shredded beef, and 3 sweet plantains – every bite a delight 10/10
Dominican Chicken Empanada was very flavourful and juicy. Most chicken empanadas I’ve tried are usually dry 8/10 and not because it was lacking anything, just because of my own tastebuds.
Dominican Beef Empanada if you like olives you will love this. It is very flavorful and well seasoned.
Sweet plantain with shredded beef and the chicken sandwich 9/10 it was really good. I had to eat it with a spoon because the mix of the condiments with the lettuce and tomato had it falling apart, but that was not an issue!
9″ Venezuelan Steak Sandwhich was amazing! Every bite packed a punch 11/10
Tequeguave- 11/10 i adored this. The flavor profile was delightful. The guava, fried cheese, and fried dough fully complimented one another.

This is definitely a place my family and I will continue to order from.

We live far from here but was nearby and wanted to experience some good neighborhood food. You get a very decent portion of food for the price you pay. We ordered the lunch special pabellon carne mechada with beef. I took off a star bc the rice was slightly undercooked and it was bland… Maybe that was how it’s supposed to taste? The platter was full with some plantains, black beans, and beef for $13.75. The burger was salty but delicious with bacon, beef patty, roast pork, cheese, lettuce and super crunchy potato sticks. Definitely a good choice. Also tried the tequeyoyo. I liked that a lot too. It was a stick like dough with ham and cheese inside. The passion fruit drink was very tasty too. As more and more customers entered we noticed almost everyone buying empanadas to eat. That definitely creates a FOMO moment for us … So we ordered some for dinner. The service was impeccable with the owner/worker giving us extra garlic/green sauce- that was so yummy. It was super clean inside. They accepted cash and cc though with a 4% charge. If I lived close by I would definitely come by again to try their other selections. Thank you for a wonderful introduction to Venezuelen food!

Honestly feel tricked. Our personal favorite Venezuelan spot wasn’t available so we thought to give this place a try and never again.

Delicious Venezuelan food. I ordered a “pepito,” and it was amazing. Fresh ingredients, tasty food, and “parchita juice” the best! Excellent service. Absolutely recommended. I will come back!

The shredded chicken sweet plantain sandwich is my absolute favorite here. I also love the potato empanadas. I’m a regular and the quality is always consistent. The staff is jovial and the place is clean…that’s important to me. It’s my go to spot when I can’t think of anything else to eat because it never disappoints.

Update: I don’t know what went wrong this last visit but my sandwich just completely missed the mark. The plantain bun was too thin and dry so everything was falling apart. The fried cheese, lettuce and tomatoes were a fraction of what they normally are. And the sandwiches were not hot. I complained and it was taken back. I took the replacement to go but I didn’t enjoy it either. My husband didn’t enjoy his cachapas…it was cold.
