Been going here for over 40 years. I was pregnant in 1985 and my water broke in the restaurant the night before my son was born. The waitress (sylvia?) who served us that night is now retired but tonight she was there and remembered me. Family owned. Hard working people. Food is consistently good.

I was looking for an authentic Mexican spot, but it was Monday night, and all the recommended places were closed. Caballo Blanco had some good reviews, so I gave it a try. There were four tables of patrons who were very regular (on a first name basis with the hostess) & I can see why. The food is not great. It’s really just OK, but they get a 4 to acknowledge carnitas that were both crispy on the outside & moist on the inside.

The 1st time I ate here was 1975 with the Reese Family, Bill n Sal, Julie, Kaye and Karyn . After they brought our meals, we would sit and watch as Karyn picked thru every F’N TACO, BURRITO or TAQUITO PLATE picking out what she thought were chunks of fat, which I told her a million times were CHUNKS OF POTATOES…KARYN
