Shrimp and Grits, Chicken Gumbo and Spicy Chicken Wings were our entree’s. The food was tasty. Observation if you have restrictions on salt not overly salty, the spice is definitely there. I would definitely recommend and I will return.

With a very warm and comfortable interior, C.J. Mugg’s provides a very inviting dining experience. The food was plentiful and very well prepared. Plus they have outdoor dining just above street level. Overall very good marks. I won’t hesitate returning.

Food here is not great, even for bar food, it is sub-standard. The ravioli tasted funky. It may have had pork in it. The pizza tasted like frozen cheap ones from the grocery. Service was really slow, and they were not even busy. Ok place if I just want a few beers in downtown Clayton

We came around 8pm on a Saturday and it was almost empty so we had a nice quiet corner. Server was super friendly and quick. I got the shrimp and grits with gumbo cup, husband got the grass fed burger. We had the house made chips and spinach and artichoke dip for a starter. We also got desserts. Husband said burger was good, but flavor was a bit odd (he thought maybe it’s because he isn’t used to grass fed). I thought the shrimp and grits was really good, but wasn’t a big fan of the gumbo. Dip and chips were very good, and dessert was nice as well. I wouldn’t be opposed to returning some time.

This was my first visit to C J Mugg’s and I was pleasantly surprised my the quality of the food. I had soup and salad but both were delicious. My sister thoroughly enjoyed the fish tacos. We shared the bread pudding for dessert. We also enjoyed the house chardonnay with our meals. I do recommend C J Mugg’s and I look forward to my next visit when I return to St. Louis.

I had a very good experience here for my very first time. I ordered a salmon sandwich and had french fries. I was very pleased with the fact that they fulfilled my order as I requested. The salmon sandwich is technically supposed to be served cold. However, I requested that they heat the salmon and they did. The restrooms were clean and the server was nice. I don’t really have a lot to say about the experience except that it was a good time. It’s definitely a “feel good restaurant.” Hence my giving them four stars as opposed to five.

It’s a respectable pub. Clean, not too noisy, good food, and a decent drink selection. They have an eclectic menu (the seafood gumbo was the standout) with something for everyone.

Do not order delivery from here. I went in to pick up an Uber Eats order, after 15 minutes was told it would be 7 or 8 more minutes. There was only a handful of people in the lobby. I ended up waiting 45 minutes for the order. I can’t out to a $40 parking ticket. I called the store to speak to the manager and explained my frustration. Not once did she apologize. The only thing she did was say I hadn’t waited 45 minutes. So now you’re going to call me a liar? Extremely unprofessional management. Customers who order your food for delivery are still customers. Do better!!!

The food was great. My Manhattan was also very nice. Service (at the bar) was very slow. A couple people walked up after I sat down, ordered meals to-go and left with their orders before I got my appetizer.
