What a great place!! The excitement and joy in the air at Buttonwood Farm is contagious. As you pull up, the air is filled with the wonderful smell of the fresh waffle cones. The lines are long but the sounds of family and friends chatting makes the wait enjoyable. The long lines are quickly and efficiently managed by friendly and competent staff. We had eight in our party and the staff nailed our order perfectly!! The ice cream is delicious and freshly made. Cherry vanilla, mint chocolate chip, graham cracker, coconut, and coffee reese’s were some of our favorite flavors. The freshly made waffle cones are worth every penny. They are hosting the Make-a-Wish campaign and raising money for them through the sale of sunflowers. This is a great farm with really delicious ice cream.

We’ve tried a lot of local ice cream spots in Connecticut, but this one was only the second that truly blew us away.
It was very flavorful and texture was incredible. Absolutely delicious!

There’s also a sunflower field nearby—and it’s absolutely beautiful.
If you visit for the ice cream, make sure to stop by!

Its a really great place to go have ice cream with your family or a nice little couples ice cream date. Whats great about this place is that they allow you to bring your furry friend with you and the staff is amazing. They also have the option for you to explore the farm and there sunflower garden.

This place doesn’t hold a flame to any ice cream that’s in New England. Hands down the best home made ice cream we’ve had in the New England, and maybe in the Northeast area.

The texture, flavor, and portions were great. We had the coffee Reese’s, monkey (banana?), coffee mocha, and some Oreos peanut butter cookie flavor. Each one was unique and was made very well.

It’s worth the stop and we will be coming back!

Wow. Ice cream is FABULOUS. We try to go a couple times per year. They close end of October. They have great brownie Sundaes. You can also get pints and quarts to go which we did. Prices arent bad and the quality and taste are fantastic. Service is good too. Even for a long line, it doesnt take long to get served. Highly recommend

Always a delightful spot to enjoy some ice cream. If you’ve never been there is a peak time during the summer (June/July) due to the sunflower fields. There’s a wait to order but it moves fairly quickly.

Excellent ice cream!

There will probably be a line when you pull in, but it goes fast and you’ll need the extra time to decide what to get. I recommend getting two scoops of different flavors.

I got the Oreo mint and was really pleased with it. No unnecessary food dyed and it tasted like mint – not toothpaste.

Easy to find/access. Accepts credit. Plenty of parking. Outdoor seating.

9.9.23 We stopped to grab ice cream and miraculously at 6:30pm there was no line. Super quick, friendly service, ample parking, friendly staff, and delicious ice cream. We had peach flavor and vanilla with chocolate chunks and strawberries on top. Yummy!

Love visiting Buttonwood during their sunflowers for wishes event. Great ice cream, nice grounds, breathtaking sunflowers, and awesome charity. Didn’t see them doing the tractor ride this time around, but that was awesome in the past. Worth the visit for sure!

I can only speak for the sunflower fields, as the line was super long for ice cream (which was no big deal but something to consider when going).

The sunflower fields were superb and offered plenty of great views. Going during the Make-A-Wish event is recommended so you can get. Sunflower to take home. There are bees there, so be ready for buzzing near the ears. The bees are calm though, they mind their business. Definitely recommend for kids and families for a nice summer day. Couples and flower fans will also enjoy the scenes.
