If you look way in the back left hand corner of Armistice Brewing, you’ll see a hole in the wall below a neon blue sign that reads Butters Burgers. Do yourself a favor and get in that line for some of the best burgers you’ll have had in a while. Menu is very limited but fries and tots are great as well. You’ll get a playing card on a stand to take to your table as your order will be delivered when ready. A reasonable amount of time to prepare a fresh burger. Order yourself a nice craft beer to go with it. Great meal and football on as well. Cooked perfectly and fresh accompaniments make that wonderful smash burger flavor come through. This is a winner. Beers great too. #stevensleavin

Butter’s Burgers is a true Napa hidden gem, offering a refreshingly simple, “hole-in-the-wall” atmosphere that stays open well after most of the valley has tucked in for the night. Their smash burgers are nothing short of delectable, particularly the Classic Royale Double, which stands out as a masterclass in flavor and texture—easily ranking among the best burgers I’ve encountered anywhere. While the pastrami burger is a fantastic, savory option, the Royale is truly a cut above. The sides are just as impressive; the fries are perfectly executed with a crisp exterior and a soft, tender center, boasting a rich flavor reminiscent of the classic beef-tallow fries from McDonald’s’ heyday. If you’re looking for an elite late-night bite in Napa, this spot comes highly recommended.

Great burgers here. I really loved the grilled onions on it. Fries were deliciously crunchy and well blended with the right amount of salt. We tried the guava lime seltzer at the brewery and it was decent! We love the area and will most definitely be stopping by here to enjoy a great burger with a cold beverage.

The pastrami burger doesn’t just arrive at the table. It announces itself.
The bun is warm and obedient, doing exactly what a bun should do: holding together a reckless, beautiful act of indulgence. Inside, a juicy beef patty sits like the main character, but let’s be clear. The pastrami is the co star that steals the movie. Thick, smoky, aggressively generous. The kind of pastrami that makes you question whether moderation was ever a real virtue.
Then comes the cheese. Melted with intent. Not lazily draped. It’s committed. It knows why it’s here. It binds everything together without distraction, letting the meat do all the talking.
Each bite escalates. This is not a burger you casually eat while scrolling your phone. This burger demands eye contact. It demands posture. It demands silence between bites so you can process what just happened.
By the end, your hands are a mess, your napkins have surrendered, and you’re staring at the wrapper like it just told you a secret about yourself.
Is it balanced? No.
Is it subtle? Absolutely not.
Is it glorious? Without question.
This is what your plate will look like.
Wrappers destroyed. Napkins overwhelmed. Absolute carnage.
Five stars. No qualifiers. No regrets.

This hole in the wall burger joint inside the pub was absolutely shocking amazing plus it was trivia night at the pub so it was really good atmosphere. Can’t beat a burger and a beer w Trivia night combo!

Burgers are so yummy. Great vibes. Order Food on 1 side and Ale on the other side. Watching Sunday football and work combo. I know I work on Sundays but it makes me discover local stuff like this.

The Royale with Cheese is not just an awesome Pulp Fiction reference, it’s also one of the best burgers I’ve had. Just tried the Pastrami Burger and, man, what a fabulous, meaty meal. Went great with the petite saison from Armistice on draft. If you like burgers and beer, do yourself a favor and visit Buter’s Burgers inside the Armistice Brewing Company in downtown Napa.

I was downtown for lunch, and had planned on having a pizza at that place right on the corner, but where I parked I had to walk past Butter’s Burger. What is this place I thought, I’ve never seen nor heard of Butter’s Burger before, so in I went.
Not expecting the greatness that I would soon experience, I settled on a cheeseburger with fries to go, and 4 minutes later at my kitchen table is when the simplicity of the perfect cheeseburger and fries hit home, it was like rounding 3rd on an in the park homerun! ☆☆☆☆☆

I’ve tried Butter’s 5 times now, from the very beginning to the now mature and settled home. It’s just exactly what you want when you think about a burger. Better executed than Gott’s, way better than In n Out, but essentially that category-ish. The textures and flavors are just right, the price is what I would call very reasonable, and most importantly it’s extremely consistent. Highly recommend!
