The food and service were excellent. The tomato soup was so fresh and delicious. The toasted whole wheat bread tuna melt was the best I’ve ever had. Homemade and well worth coming back for. My husband said the same about his chicken and waffles. Excellent!

We had a really good experience at Buttermilk’s Farmhouse. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. Portion sizes were solid, and the menu is big with lots of options to choose from. The service was great overall, and our waitress was friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout the meal.

We were seated right away with no wait, which was a nice bonus. The drink options were good, and the location is convenient right in the village of Bay Shore. Parking can be a little tricky at times. We ended up parking on the street, so just be mindful of metered parking.

The only downside was the pricing on drinks and add-ons. Drinks were on the expensive side, and some of the upcharges felt a bit high, like being charged $1.50 for flavored syrup in a drink, which seemed excessive.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience with great food, good service, and a lively atmosphere.

This is a nice breakfast/ lunch place right off of Main Street servicing Bayshore and the adjoining area of Suffolk County. Food is good. Staff is nice. Always a long line on the weekends. Weekly food specials. Clean facilities. On the more expensive side to bring your credit cards. Give this place a try if you’re in the area. We will definitely be going back..

Everything is just way too sweet. Beautifully presented, but all the flavor comes from all the sweetness. Instead of piles of cream on top of your pancakes, put a little more love in your batter and a whole lot less sugar. The waffle was very good, except the nutella was put on too.Heavy if it was just a light drizzle, it would have been perfect. My daughter had the chicken caprese, which she said was very good. And the tomato soup was also very good.My wife had the pancakes, but they were just way overloaded something a child would eat.If I would have known this from the beginning, we would not have ordered them.I would have ordered just a plain waffle, and she would have ordered plain pancakes. Maybe next time..

Awesome local breakfast and lunch hometown eatery. Very pleasant staff with good food. They offer FRESH squeezed orange juice, an expresso bar and unlimited hot fresh coffee. The corn beef hash is made FRESH at the location, the eggs are jumbo, and everything is cooked to perfection.

Incredible addition to the neighborhood! The food was delicious (and we tried nearly everything). After a 20 minute wait for a table, which was very quick for opening weekend, we received equally fast service and our orders came out in no time at all! Everyone was incredibly friendly and accommodating, especially since I bought my baby in her stroller. I worried about space, but it wasn’t an issue at all! Extremely family friendly!

We’ll be back for sure! May become a weekly visit!

We were just passing through Bay Shore early in the morning and looking for a good breakfast when Google led us to this brand-new business — and what a great find!

The place is beautiful, spotlessly clean, and you can tell right away how much care goes into every detail. The service is excellent, and the food is fresh, delicious, and perfectly cooked.
On top of that, the prices are very fair for the quality you get.

One of those places you discover and immediately want to come back to.
Highly recommend! ☕✨

Bartender Lauren delivered drinks and threw the straw on the table, as if she had an issue. Then the same bartender delivered our food and asked if we need hot sauce for pancakes and French toast bites. Great food not very please, with the personalities in the restaurant. Will NOT BE BACK !!
Yes I still tipped properly!

My review happens only a couple of weeks after opening. It caught my attention with its promising farm-to-table concept and cozy atmosphere. As someone who enjoys supporting local businesses, I was eager to see what they had to offer.

Food 2/5
Unfortunately, the kitchen execution was disappointing. The sausage in my breakfast was notably under-cooked, which is both unappetizing and concerning from a food safety standpoint. The hash browns arrived mushy rather than crispy, lacking the golden texture you’d expect. On the positive side, the coffee was quite good. I ordered the egg in the hole and my wife had the Florentine omelet. My wife experienced moderate digestion issues.

Service 5/5
The service team truly shines here. The staff was consistently attentive and genuinely friendly throughout our meal. Coffee refills came frequently without having to ask.

Ambiance 5/5
The atmosphere is exactly what you’d want from a farmhouse-style restaurant – cozy and inviting with thoughtful decor. Fair warning that it fills up quickly during peak breakfast and brunch hours, so plan accordingly.

Cleanliness 5/5
Being a newer establishment, everything maintains that fresh, pristine feel. The dining areas are spotless, and the restroom was very clean. Even passed my inconspicuous dust test on less obvious surfaces.

Parking 3/5
There’s parking behind the restaurant with a convenient rear entrance, which is great when available. However, during busy periods, you may find yourself hunting for street parking or paying for a nearby lot.

Value 3/5
At around $50 for breakfast for two with tip, the pricing is reasonable for the portion sizes and setting. However, the inconsistent food quality significantly undermines the value proposition.

Overall 3/5
This place has all the right ingredients for success – excellent service, lovely atmosphere, and fair pricing. The food quality remains the primary obstacle preventing a much higher rating. The kitchen simply isn’t executing menu items properly, which is quite disappointing given the potential. I plan to give them another chance in a few months, hoping they work out these fundamental preparation issues. If the food quality doesn’t improve, it would be a real shame given how well they’ve nailed everything else.

I was excited to try out Bay Shore’s newest addition and I wasn’t dissappointed. The portions were big enough to share, the prices were fair, and the food had flavour. I came for brunch — this spot was definitely worth checking out
