Our family had lunch at Buttermilk on a recent weekday. The restaurant was at capacity, so the noise level was a bit high. But the cuisine and service more than compensated for this issue. The menu is extensive and eclectic, including a range of vegetarian dishes and “healthy” choices. I rate the quality and portion quantity as “outstanding.” Although the kitchen was a bit backed up because of the crowd, our server, Emily, did a great job. The beverage menu has some unusual choices, such as the watermelon mimosa and the espresso martini, both of which were enjoyed by two of our group. I chose the veggie omelet with “crispy” potatoes and a side of pancakes while my wife ordered the brisket sandwich, also with potatoes – both excellent! Prices are moderate and appropriate for the experience. Summing up, this will definitely be our restaurant of choice in Vernon Hills for brunch/lunch.

We finally made it here and it was worth the wait! The food and service was outstanding. I had the butcher block omelette and it was excellent. The Cobb salad was outstanding as was the skillet was perfect. The biscuits and pancakes were great as well. Everyone should experience eating here.

We waited an hour and a half for a table on Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was super packed and incredibly loud the entire time. They have unique drinks, like the blood orange juice. The buttermilk pancakes, Market Skillet, and sweet potato fries were all good.

Yum yum yum! Biscuits, buttery and home made strawberry jelly the best! I got the shawarma chicken sandwich was bomb. Loved the season fries. My hubby had a hamburger. He loved. Our waiter, Cody went above and beyond for us. Very pleasant service and relaxing atmosphere. Plan on returning again. Thx you!

Great place for brunch, their dishes (and beverages) always hit the spot. You’ll probably be left with enough leftovers for a second meal, unless you’re extra hungry. Menu is pretty extensive and they also have seasonal specials running. Servers are also friendly and helpful!

Delicious food but awful, AWFUL wait times and very slow service….also the lady that placed me on the waiting list was very rude to me. She just stared at me, no greeting, no smile, nothing….I thought something was wrong with her., very weird and strange interaction…. Great location, nice cozy decor, horrible parking situation. This is a swanky fast paced, extremely busy restaurant. 30 minute wait time was more like 15 and went fast with all the hustle and bustle going on. Once seated we were greeted promptly and drink orders taken. Food order shortly after that. When the food arrived the portions are large, you will definitely not leave the unsatisfied. Food was delicious and would highly recommend but only if you are not in a hurry. Staff were friendly and helpful and constantly on the move.
