I love this place. It’s nice on the inside, can accommodate a variety of guests, and I noticed they have patio seating. The staff is always friendly & attentive. The food is good, although today I tried the blueberry crepes & they were bland. They also charge extra for fresh fruit, which is a little disappointing. Overall it’s a great time.

Valeria was an excellent server for our difficult “special” request family. The food was very good, served hot. The front doors could have used some windex, the hostess’ could work on that, but the rest of the public area was spotless, restrooms very clean and well stocked. It was a very busy Sunday, I was impressed on the team work, runners were running, coffee was hot. Well done!

I love a good skirt steak skillet and this one was amazing! And thank you to the chefs- I always ask for crispy hash browns in my skillet (and they usually never are) but these were! Thank you! I will be back

It’s a bit pricey for what we got.
My wife’s order, the ham piece was so thin, it’s not good value.
I ordered a steak skillet. It tasted delicious but the steak alone is not flavorful. Pretty pricey.
I also ordered a Cafe Mocha and it’s not something I’d order again.
I’ve no complaints regarding service from our wait person. She’s nice, courteous, attentive.
Would we dine here again? Maybe.
We thought to give this place a try.
Our experience may be different from yours.
Go and give Buttered Toast a try.
I’m sure they’re trying their best to put their best every day.

We absolutely loved this place! The food (I got the Suga Mama) was even better than I expected, and my blueberry lavender iced tea was absolutely delicious and refreshing. Our server was nice and helpful. I don’t live in the area anymore, but I would definitely be willing to drive an hour out here just for this restaurant.

I really wanted to like this place but I didn’t like what we ordered. I got the chicken and waffles and wish the bacon wasn’t in the waffles bc it made it really salty. ALSO they only give you 3 of the 4 quadrants of the waffles.. which is kind of strange. The corned beef hash was okay but the pancakes were really dry. I rarely make these posts but we really didn’t like it.

Have been going here for many years with great success. But not today. The bacon was tough as leather and the chicken was dry as a bone. Hope this was a one-off. Eggs and grits were a good as ever.

It was our first time here. Food was better than expected. I hate leaving a 3 star for service because our waitress Amanda was great! The hostesses not so much. They were much more concerned with talking with each other. No thank you for coming and barely a good morning when you walk in. We had the pomegranate mimosas, they were good. The egg white spinach omelet and the sweet potato hash, with spinach and broccoli added. Along with the berry blintzes.

I was in the area visiting friendly. We tried an unsavory (well-known) breakfast restaurant the day before, so we tried to re-do it with a new spot. Buttered Toast is a cozy, chic bistro in the Algonquin/Crystal Lake area.
Our waitress’s was prompt, although she did disappear when we wanted our check. A simple flag down and someone else was able to help us. The food wasn’t bad either. My Dad got a Breakfast with 2 Eggs, Ham and Pancakes. He said it wasn’t anything remarkable, but wasn’t bad. I enjoyed my Chilaquiles but the chips were rather soggy. It was pretty filling.
Very limited coffee options. More staff is needed to have quicker service. We would come back if need-be.

This use to be one of the best resturaunts in the area. In the past year both the quality of service and food have gone down hill. Im talking basic foods. Eggs over cooked, hash browns undercooked. Food luke warm when you pick it up.
I will not be coming back here and I recommend you dont waste your time either. I waited 45 minutes for biscuits and gravy and a country fried steak, egs, and grits.
There are too many other places to go to in this area that have better food and wait times.
