The spicy chicken tenders were delicious! Really large and juicy and tons of food with fries. We got a side of curds and that was plenty for 2 people. The homemade sauces are delicious. I want to take a bottle of the green goddess mayo home! Super cute decor! We will definitely be back!

Butterbird is fabulous addition to Regent Street. This would be THEE place to watch a Packers or Badgers game. The counter is throwing out an accurate 1940s/1950s vibe. I’ve never seen anything quite like it before. I like that you order and pay at the counter so you can leave whenever you want without having to flag down a server to pay your bill. The outdoor patio is very open and airy. The service was fantastic and obviously the chicken is great. I had the Butterbird Classic. It was delicious. My only suggestion is maybe a different sauce – it comes with a “Dilly Ranch” sauce. It was good but I think there are some other sauces that would compliment the chicken better. The chicken is incredible. Butterbird is totally worth checking out!

So I was told butterbitd was too expensive, but folks are wrong!
Went there with my wife on a Sunday and it was fairly busy at 1pm. I love that you are met right away by someone to take your order and explain the menu.
While driving to Butterbird, my wife already recited the menu and we decided to split the three chicken fingers plate with a side of fries. An Awesome choice!
We were given a number to place on our table to receive our food, and it came out quickly.
But first, the atmosphere here is tremendous done in wood, with the bar in the middle of the whole building. But what was great is the tremendous amount of booths that can seat six people or elevated table tops. The lighting was perfect, the temperature inside was perfect for the 13 degree weather and the place was very clean.
The food arrived quickly and I was in shock. Two of the chicken fingers looked like a quarter of a thigh! They were huge, well breaded but the big surprise was… the chicken melted in your mouth… literally! It was some of the best moist chicken I have ever eaten!
The fires were cut like McDonalds fries, but just seemed to lack something, like a seasoning or more salt. If anything, I think Butterbird should offer 3 different seasonings to put on the fries to jazz it up. All the food was hot.
I am glad my wife got the dill ranch to dip her chicken (and fries) because it was fantastic. I got the regular BBQ sauce, but it really lacked any flavor. I think if they made it a smoky flavor bbq it would be great, but it was only just “ok”.
This is one place I WILL be recommending to friends. An awesome meal, great atmosphere makes it perfect Regent St place to go eat.
Oh yeah and the price? It was justified by the huge portions, great taste and atmosphere!
I am one of the top 7% Google reviewers and have had my photographs reviewed over 2.3 million times. But most of all, I love food!

Atmosphere of the place is amazing and all the staff were exceedingly friendly, food was likewise really delicious and the chicken and fries were crispy without being too much. The manager came by and was super friendly then gave us some little pumpkin pie sundaes because it was our first time in.

The atmosphere in here is 10/10. I love the modern vibes mixed with the diner aesthetic. It’s a great place to watch the game.
And I have to say the cheese curds were the best I’ve had in the entire city. I found the fried chicken itself to be pretty average, but the rest of the experience is so good we’d definitely be back.

The specialty is chicken, and it’s mighty fine. I had the regular chicken sandwich, fries, and a cookies and cream milkshake. Nothing needed extra seasoning, and honestly you could eat the fries without any condiments. There was a water cooler too, and the only criticism I could have is adding a little bit of ice so it isn’t room temp. The bathroom is clucking fun to view, too.

Not a fan. My husband and I decided we would try both types of chicken so we could share it. I got the 2 piece fried and he got the 1/4 rotisserie chicken. Everthing is alacart. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. You do get a sauce so I tried the hot honey and my husband got the dilly ranch.
The dinners came and I think the rotisserie chicken was from a Cornish game hen. I would have been embarrassed to serve it.
We did end up sharing our dinners but only because my husband got so little protein.
The hot honey was strange…tasted very floral and not very hot. The silly ranch was very good. The chicken was just ok..not lots of flavor.
The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was fun with tvs showing old animated movies.
I doubt well go back. The dinner rolls are tiny I gave mine to my husband. My husband said the coleslaw was just ok.

Very impressed! We had some friends visiting from out of town, so we decided to try Sunday brunch. Immediately greeted by smiling faces and assistance with any questions on the menu we had. Ordering was easy, and the food came quickly. Causal, fast, and fun. The restaurant was clean and inviting. The chicken was 10/10!!! (They even had excellent vegetarian options) I recommend the hot honey chicken, homemade biscuits, and sweet corn waffle and were the standouts. Oh and I cannot forget the cocktails, their version of a Mai Tai was well balanced and not too sweet. Special thanks to Danny (manager) who introduced himself and made sure we had everything we needed. Must try when visiting Madison.

Visited from Chicago and we had a great meal! Both the fried chicken and rotisserie chicken were good, the cheese curds were fab. Get the green garlic mayo it is amazing! In addition to the food, the ambiance of the place is so cute and you can tell the owner put a lot of care into the small details that make up the place. Service was excellent and truly above and beyond. A super kind man who I believe is the manager gave my mother a complimentary souvenir when she was just asking about some of their decorations. Do give this place a try if you find yourself in Madison 🙂

My wife and I got food sickness from whatever we ate from here. We both have nasty bowel movements, upset stomach, and nausea.
Either from their dill ranch sauce or their chicken. Like the place is cool, the staff were great. But there’s NO phone number to call and warn them about our sickness. I checked their website, on Google, and on Apple Maps. That is unacceptable. They get a 2 star, and that is me being generous. Be careful eating here.
