Enjoyed this place as a place to eat breakfast and brunch, there isn’t many places in Madison to eat this style so it’s worth a visit, most other things near by are diners or beagles so there in a great place.
The food was well presented and tasty, there quite busy so it might be a good idea to book ahead

Horrible I came today on Valentine’s Day 2/14/26 because this was on my list. The steak was a poorly cut steak and it was tough when I asked for medium well they took have off because we were eating the sides due to the wait! Grits looks like oatmeal and you have to request cheese melt!
I am now looking for something outside of here to eat’
Food is mid!
DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I don’t get to Butter & Jam that often but when I do, I consider it a special treat. The food is delicious. The menu highlights a wide variety of healthy and tasty options and never disappoints. I especially enjoy their Mediterranean Toast. Delish!
The service is good but when they are busy, it’s not unusual to wait a bit whether for your food or the check.
I always enjoy my breakfasts/ lunches there. If I had any recommendations / requests it would be that they open earlier. My day starts early.

We recently had my daughters baby shower at Butter & Jam. It was a wonderful day! Bill, the manager and Daniela, the event coordinator, were a pleasure to work with in planning our event. Day of, Bill and Mia, our server, made sure everything was taken care of and helped us with decorating. They allowed us to come into the space ahead of time to setup. All the food was delicious, we had a limited menu for our guests, the butter & jam board starters along with the fresh berries and cream were a hit. Everyone was very happy! It was truly a lovely day!

We usually go to Turning Point, but we decided to try something different after reading some strong reviews for Butter and Jam. The inside was very generic and honestly reminded me of a hospital cafeteria. The staff was friendly, but the service was surprisingly slow considering how empty it was. There were only a few tables seated, yet it took a long time for our food to come out.
I ordered the brisket eggs Benedict. It looked good, but was just okay. The brisket was extremely dry, and while the sauce and poached egg yolk helped a little, it wasn’t enough to make the dish memorable. I also ordered a cold brew, which tasted good, but for the price I was disappointed that the cup was maybe two-thirds full, including the thick layer of foam. Not worth the price.
What also surprised me was that our waitress never checked in to see how the food was until we were completely finished and ready for the bill. Overall, I’m glad we tried this place, but there’s no reason for us to return.

We had a fabulous breakfast at Butter & Jam! From the very first time we contacted them, they were warm and inviting. We were a group of 14 on a busy weekend and the staff did not miss a beat. Our server, Naz, was fantastic and even stayed to enjoy seeing our first bites of food. And, oh, the food! Delicious flavors and top notch freshness were a theme for even the pickiest eaters. Highly recommend for a truly enjoyable experience all around.

Butter & Jam is a sweet little spot. Whilst they have good options , the dishes we tried were fairly average. I had the mushroom scramble with Swiss cheese, my husband had an eggs Benedict. The base of the benedict was pretty hard. My son’s $10 meal had almost as much quantity as a regular dish which was nice. The highlight for us was the salted caramel cortado. It was not too sweet, had the right amount of bitterness, definitely give that a try.
Overall it’s a nice spot if you are in the area. I liked it, did not love it.

My friends and I really enjoyed our time catching up at Butter & Jam. It is a modern yet cozy brunch spot with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The breakfast and lunch menus are simple yet offer a creative selection of both classic and innovative dishes, and the presentation of the food was appetizing.
However, while the flavors of the dishes I tried were great, we were disappointed to find hair in our food. The staff handled the situation professionally and promptly replaced our meal, which I appreciated. Mistakes can happen, and their quick response helped restore my confidence in their commitment to quality.
The ambiance, menu, and attentive service make it a strong contender for the best brunch in the area but I hope the kitchen can maintain higher attention to detail moving forward. I’d still recommend giving them a try!

Cute fun brunch spot. BYO and they take reservations (which I suggest!) we hosted a baby shower here and it was the perfect space. Bill and Daniella were communicative throughout the planning process and the day was truly magical.
Edit: Just when I thought they couldn’t be any better, Butter & Jam recently donated a discount on the punch card we gave participants for our Beach Clean, demonstrating their philanthropy and care for the community – big thank you!

We were in the area abs decided to give a try. The restaurant side had an event so the wait time was long. Both sides are small, but very busy. The butter and jam board was the highlight. The different butters were so delicious. The berry jam was good as well.
My garden omelette was well made and delicious. My son enjoyed his hot chocolate with all the trimmings. Plus his French toast.
I would return, but with reservations of possible.
